The Zaku Atmospheric Reentry Test Type is a mobile suit from the design series MSV90.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Principality of Zeon did not possess any MS that had the ability to perform atmospheric entry, and instead relied on space cruisers and HLVs for their Earth Drop Operations. However, when Zeon's science and technology team heard that the Earth Federation Forces had developed an MS that could break through the atmosphere alone, they immediately began to design and develop an MS that could to the same. This machine was equipped with a wave-shield on its back, as well as verniers and attitude control boosters all over its body. In order to reduce the temperature rise inside the machine, ceramic tiles are used for the body and a cooling system is also installed. When this machine is performing atmospheric entry, it removes the wave-shield attached to its back and uses it as a wave-rider.

The results of the operational tests were not made public, and no follow-up machine would be developed.
