The ZGMF-515AS CGUE Assault is a commander type heavy assault mobile suit, it is featured in the manga series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Frame Astrays. The unit is piloted by Xist Elwes.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
The ZGMF-515AS CGUE Assault is a variant of the standard ZGMF-515 CGUE that has been modified for heavy combat situations in a manner similar to the ZGMF-1017AS GINN Assault Type. Like the GINN Assault Type, the CGUE Assault mounts additional armor on its arms, legs, and torso to increase overall performance, allowing a mass production MS to be on par with specially developed ace MS. However, this design soon falls out of favour as the MS development trend tilts towards the latter. CGUE's assaults parts also give the MS a certain degree of atmospheric flight capabilities and unlike the GINN's assualt parts, it does not mount much in the way of additional weapons.
One such machine is captured by EA and assigned to Xist Elwes. Besides some modifications to the internal components, EA also developed a set of shoulder shield for Xist's CGUE Assault. The shoulder shields are optionally mounted on the shoulder, each possessing a dual Gatling gun and can increase the MS's aerial mobility as well as AMBAC capabilities.

History
Another custom colored CGUE is used by Xist Elwes. Xist's CGUE is a captured unit and modified for his custom use. The CGUE Assault was first seen between a battle with Xist and Suu piloting TMF/A-802W2 Kerberos BuCUE Hound.
