The GINN Assault Type is a Mobile Suit in the Cosmic Era timeline.
Combat Characteristics
The GINN Assault Type is a mobile suit designed for heavy combat and thus is equipped with heavier armor, several built-in assault weapons, and additional thrusters to compensate for the lost maneuverability to caused by the extra weight. Its weight slows it down making it less suitable against the high-speed Moebius units but its thick armor gives it greatly improved defense against the Earth Alliance's weapons. Many of the GINN AS's weapons are reminiscent of the anti-fortress D-Equipment used by regular GINNs.
It is likely that when the Earth Forces began fielding their own mobile suits the GINN Assault Type was used less and less in favor of lighter and faster mobile suits to combat the beam weapon equipped machines.
Armaments
Beam gun/revolver with Bayonet
A weapon used by mobile suits piloted by mercenary Kaite Madigan. A beam pistol that bears a resemblance to a revolver that doubles as a melee weapon because of the equipped bayonet. It is unknown whether this weapon is exclusive only to Kaite Madigan or is also available for the regular GINN AS
Shoulder Mounted Gatling gun
A standard weapon of the GINN Assault type is a pair of Gatling guns mounted on its shoulders and can function as both a long range weapon and a CIWS for missiles fired by ships and aircraft
3-Barrel Missile Launcher
The Pardus is a 3-barrel missile launcher that attaches to the mobile suits legs, two Pardus per mobile suit, giving the GINN AS additional 6 missiles apart from it's wrist mounted rocket launcher.
Wrist Mounted Dual Rocket-Propelled Grena. de Launcher
Mounted on each of the GINNs wrists is dual rocket-propelled grenade launcher. This provides the GINN with four short-range missiles that can be fired either one at a time or simultaneously
Experimental 27mm Armor Assault Rifle
An experimental anti-armor assault rifle developed from the regular GINN's heavy assault rifle with added firepower and possibly, capacity
History
Apart from the Kaite Madigan custom Assault Type, the only other two models known are from those in the Nazca Class ship, Vesallius, piloted by two of the green pilots onboard, Olor and Miguel, as illustrated in the Del Rey Manga. Both of these units were destroyed during their battle with the GAT-X105+AQM/E-X02 Sword Strike Gundam piloted by Kira Yamato.
