The ZGMF-1001 Madigan's ZAKU Phantom is a mobile suit introduced in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

A customized ZGMF-1001 ZAKU Phantom used by professional MS pilot, Kaite Madigan. The suit is painted olive green and features his trademark white cross on the left side of its body. Its side armor contains "Armor Schneider" blades as well as grenades, while the shoulders are mounted with shield swords, which contain Gatling guns and can also function as handheld blades. Madigan's ZAKU Phantom can also use Kaite's trademark custom handgun and retains the ability to use the Wizard System.

Armaments

• Shield Sword

A pair of shields mounted on the shoulder, they are equipped with 4-barrel Gatling guns for range combat and when handheld, they can function as swords due to their sharp edges. It is a weapon that combines defense, range and melee attack capability.

• "Armor Schneider"

The brown portion of the side armor is actual a detachable, handheld "Armor Schneider" blade. Unlike other "Armor Schneider" blades, this suit's "Armor Schneider" looks more like a katar. The suit has in total two such blades.

• Grenade

A grenade is hidden within each of the side armor.

• Custom Handgun

A composite weapon used by mobile suits piloted by professional MS pilot, Kaite Madigan. It is a customized handgun that can switch between firing beam or solid rounds, and is equipped with a "Armor Schneider" knife blade for close combat.

Madigan's ZAKU Phantom retained the original ZAKU Phantom's ability to mount the Wizard System - a series of optional, interchangeable armament packs developed by ZAFT.

History

Despite being ZAFT's newest mobile suits, several ZAKU Phantoms and ZAKU Warriors were already acquired by unaffiliated groups, such as the professional MS pilot Kaite Madigan. One ZAKU Phantom was customized by Kaite for his own use, and was known as Madigan's ZAKU Phantom. This mobile suit was among the various machines Kaite used when he was employed by the mysterious businessman Matias to protect Jess Rabble. Kaite also gave another ZAKU Phantom to Elijah Kiel, and even customized the mobile suit to better fit Elijah.
