Technology & Combat Characteristics
Designed for medical purposes, the Hospital ZAKU Warrior uses the Wizard Pack mounting capabilities of the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior to carry up to three medical containers on its back for on-field treatment of injured soldiers. It can set up a treatment centre with the containers in any locations, and the medical equipment within are powered by the mobile suit itself. It also carries spare battery packs for powering the containers on both sides of the waist, replacing the usual side armor and associated hand grenades. The Hospital ZAKU Warrior does not have any armaments, but can equip any weapon or equipment designed for the ZAKU series.
Special Equipment & Features
- Medical Container
- Up to three medical containers can be carried on the Hospital Zaku Warrior's back and they can be covered for travel protection. The containers are lowered by two incorporated cranes, which are also used for dragging damaged mobile suits from the battlefield. After putting the containers into the desired layout, they are connected together by extendable parts. Two grip-holds are present on the sides of each container so that the Hospital Zaku Warrior can pick it up. When docked to the Hospital Zaku Warrior, each container has clamps that hold on to the container below, when deployed, these clamps are folded up and acts as stabilizers. A tent can be deployed over the container camps for protection.
Michael Coast piloted a Hospital Zaku Warrior for relief efforts during the aftermath of the 'Break the World' incident. A Hospital Zaku Warrior was also deployed by ZAFT in the East Asia area. During the conflict, a scout squadron was eliminated by unknown means and in response a Hospital Zaku Warrior was sent out to the area.
