Template:Infobox/Mobile Weapon Ver.2The YMS-15E Gyan Eos is a variant of the YMS-15 Gyan featured in MSV-R as well as MSV-R: The Return of Johnny Ridden manga series.
Technology & Combat Characteristics
A modified version of the YMS-15 Gyan that lost to the MS-14A Gelgoog to be Zeon's next mainstay mobile suit. The Gyan Eos is jointly created by Zimmad Company and Zeonic Company, and is better suited for actual combat. Its name is derived from the "Goddess of Dawn" in Greek mythology, and two prototypes were constructed.
Various new technologies are incorporated into the Gyan Eos, drastically increasing its versatility. It has improved mobility in space and is fitted with a new backpack that is similar to the MS-14B Gelgoog High Mobility Type's. Gyan Eos also has revised armament, consisting of a mid-close range use Beam Bayonet and a Custom Shield.
Armaments
- Custom Shield
- The Gyan Eos' shield lacks the missile launchers of the original Gyan's shield, but has higher defensive capability in close combat and is made of new armor materials.
- Beam Bayonet
- An experimental, bayonet-type weapon designed for mid-close range combat. It has a beam sword generator at the tip and a small beam gun further down. Compared to the Gelgoog's beam rifle, the beam gun's firepower and effective range is lower.
- 360mm Giant Bazooka
- The same Giant Bazooka used by the Dom series of mobile suits. The bazooka is magazine fed and holds 10 rounds per magazine, and a single round can blow the torso off of an enemy mobile suit.
History
The two prototype units were assigned to Kycilia Zabi's mobile assault forces and participated in the battle of A Baoa Qu.
