The Waltfeld Corps is a sub-division of ZAFT, introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

Overview

The Waltfeld Corps is a military unit led by Commander Andrew Waltfeld and his second-in-command Martin DaCosta. The group functioned as ZAFT's occupation force in North Africa, headquartered in the city of Banadiya.

History

First Alliance-PLANT War

During the First Alliance-PLANT War, the ZAFT commander Andrew Waltfeld and his division were deployed to Earth to reinforce the PLANT-allied African Community and occupy their territory in North Africa. For most of their occupation, the Waltfeld Corps held supremacy over the area, with their mobile suit and land battleships providing them the advantage against the Earth Alliance and local resistance groups, such as the Desert Dawn.
