Via was against her husband turning one of their soon-to-be-born twin babies into an Coordinator. After he took their son, Kira, out of her womb, he placed him in a capsule to complete his development. Via tearfully begged Ulen for her son back, but he refused to listen to her pleas. Via could only keep their daughter, Cagalli, inside her womb, so she would be born naturally.
Via presumably died alongside Ulen when their home and laboratory was attacked by Blue Cosmos. Before this, though, she managed to entrust her younger sister, Caridad, and her husband, Haruma, with their children's safety.
