The Tsiolkovsky is an exploration ship introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The spacecraft was designed for a return trip to the Jupiter sphere. The 2,000-meter-long vessel is equipped with an artificial heavy-duty caprock that utilizes centrifugal force to withstand the long journey of seven years each way. In addition, there are facilities such as industrial and agricultural blocks, making it easy to think of the ship as a small city.
History[]
Designed by George Glenn, it was built by FASA and launched on a return flight to Jupiter in C.E. 15, carrying George Glenn and several other astronauts. On departure, George Glenn confessed that he was a Coordinator. After discovering the extraterrestrial fossil "Evidence 01" in the Jupiter sphere in C.E. 22, the spacecraft returned to the Earth sphere in C.E. 29, 14 years after its departure from Earth.[1]
