Trailer

A mega-size truck developed by the EFF to carry their new weapon, the RX-series mobile suits and to ensure the strategic mobility of Federation mobile suits on Earth. Powered by a special gasoline engine,^[2] The twenty-wheeled Trailer featured a flatbed-style loading platform which was capable of carrying one standard mobile suit or its disassembled parts,^[1] and could be covered with a canopy. Its driving cabin was located on the right side, with fours sets of ladder on each side of the platform for personnel access.

History[]

The Trailer were used by E.F.F. to carry their secret Operation V mobile suits - RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-77-2 Guncannon and RX-75 Guntank inside Side 7 to be picked up by Pegasus-class carrier White Base. On September 18, U.C. 0079, the EFF's Side 7 base was discovered and attacked by Zeon's Zaku Patrol Team dispatched by Maj. Char Aznable's Falmel Fleet, destroying many Trailers and the carried RX mobile suit parts. During the ensuing chaos, the trailered Gundam was piloted by Side 7 resident Amuro Ray which got off the ground and fought the intruding Zakus and destroyed both of them. As the White Base prepared to take off from Side 7, Amuro was ordered by the carrier's acting captain Bright Noa to destroy what was left of the military facility, including the Trailers and all the remaining mobile suits parts.^[3]

This vehicle does not have an unified name since the release of Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979. Its names include, but not limited to, the following:
- Large Trailer (大型トレーラー, Ōgata Torērā^?)^[4]^[5]
- Gundam-type Transportation Large Trailer (ガンダム類運搬大型トレーラー, Gandamu-rui Unpan Ōgata Torērā^?)^[6]^[2]
- It was re-titled as Gundam Trailer Truck (ガンダムトレーラートラック, Gandamu Torērā Torakku^?) when it was commercially released as a 1:144 EX Model in 2001.
