  • Watching Thunderbolt got me thinking about this. Video games tend to bend cannon to make their game work so for this question, I'm only asking about OVA/ONA, and manga.

There was Amuro in the RX-87-2. RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex" from War In The Pocket. ~20 RX-79 [G] Ground types in 08th MS Team Thunderbolt

    What else was there?

    • I guess it depends on your definition of what counts as a Gundam. The Gundam Marine Type, for example, has a Gundam head and the word "Gundam" in its name, but it's actually just a modified Aqua GM.

As for the RX-78 series, it has units 1 through 8, 1 was the prototype, 7 and 8 were never finished before the end of the war, the other were all in service, though details about G3 was sketchy.

Also, there's Gundam Pixy from Cross Dimension 0079, and GT-Four from that manga that may or may not be canon.

    • What counts as a true "Gundam" across the Universal Century timeline is a bit harder to define than any other [spin-off] Gundam series.

We do know that Gundams featured from the years 0079~0086 were not built with Newtypes in mind. Most were simply high-performance prototype machines that were equipped with Luna Titanium armor & Minovsky-powered beam weapons.

You could get away with arguing that the Gundam Mk. II (Titans & AEUG-use) was not a "Gundam", because it's armor isn't made of Luna Titanium... AND (since the Titans were known to use technology stolen from Zeon) I'm not even sure if its beam rifle is Minovsky-powered; it fired yellow beams in the original show, and [considering the Gelgoog, the first Zeonic mobile suit to use beam rifles] said beams were described as "mega particles" rather than Minovsky particles.

Of course, in the Universal Century, you could get away with calling something a "Gundam" if it just has the characteristic V-Fin design on its head.

Dude, ALL beam weapons use Minovsky particles. They are just compressed into mega particles before firing.

First I've heard of every generic beam weapon or Minovsky particle device being described as using "mega" particles.

I have heard of Mega Particle Beams in this series, but not for everything.

    • I can't say for certain, but their were at least 14.
