Suletta Mercury is in the cockpit of the XVX-016 Gundam Aerial, checking through her student notebook to make sure she has everything ready before enrolment. The ship she is on is five minutes away from the Asticassia School of Technology, located in Front Sector 73. As the ship enters a docking course, she views the school from afar, proclaiming to her mom that she has finally made it. Using her student notebook to control the magnification level on the Aerial's display, she zooms in on a person in a normal suit. Panicking, she alerts the bridge to send a rescue team. Although the rescue team is authorised to prepare for extravehicular activity, she suits up to launch the Aerial anyway and so the bridge opens the exit hatch for her. The person in the normal suit, Miorine Rembran, sees a faint blue light in the distance. The Aerial approaches and catches Miorine with both hands, despite Miorine signalling not to with crossed arms. Almost out of oxygen, Suletta opens the cockpit hatch to begin the rescue. Miorine grabs and pushes her back into the cockpit, headbutting her. Miorine had been making an escape attempt and is angry at her for interfering, making the attempt fruitless. Miorine pressures her to take responsibility and she accepts.

Suletta travels down the elevator and sees the front's interior from within. She takes the monorail from the dock to the school and sees students riding on their scooters with Haro's on the road to her right. The monorail arrives at the school and she exits to be greeted by a Haro docked into a mobile information board. She is briefly startled before making a bow of respect to the Haro. Demi Trainers walk around the school. A teacher shows students a hologram of a mobile craft in a piloting department lesson. In a mechanics department lesson, the students sit on the floor before their teacher. More Demi Trainers activate.

Suletta is at the ground where drills are done Nika Nanaura introduces herself to Suletta and offers to answer any questions. Suletta tries to thank her but stumbles as she's overwhelmed by her first time at a school. Three curious students bombard Suletta with questions. They conclude she is of the elite for being in the piloting department and tease her for her old-fashioned hair band. Suletta notices Miorine walking to her class and being called by a teacher. Suletta remembers the demand to take responsibility, offering to help in another escape. This raises some gossip amongst the other students, notably piloting student Felsi Rollo who knows about Miorine's wish to run away to Earth.

An alarm sounds, signalling the beginning of a duel. The artificial sky darkens and the MD-0032G Guel's Dilanza pushes the TKG-328 Kapell-Kuu along the ground. The Kapell-Kuu backs off and fires beams at Guel's Dilanza but every shot either misses or is too weak. The teacher notices the Dilanza is "red" and concludes it is that of Guel Jeturk. Guel apologizes for interrupting his drills. Shaddiq Zenelli of the Duelling Committee tells the teacher that they have approved it as an official duel, he is watching it in a booth with his fellow committee members. Guel's Dilanza wields a Beam Partizan but the Kapell-Kuu shakes it off. Guel notices Miorine is watching the duel from afar and so directs the fighting towards the edge of the grounds. His underclassmen, Felsi and Petra, cheer him on. Guel's Dilanza stabs the Beam Partizan all the way through the Kapell-Kuu's monoeye and slices the antenna off. Miorine pulls Suletta away to safety. The artificial sky lights up again as Guel has won the duel, the smoke clears showing Guel's Dilanza standing victoriously over Parker Eastcott's Kapell-Kuu and Miorine shielding Suletta. Guel steps out of the cockpit to flaunt his victory to Miorine, proclaiming that both her and the company will soon be his before long. Lauda Neill, who was spectating the duel, tells his brother to leave as class is still in session. Guel explains the reason for the duel was because Parker had laughed at him, calling him a man with a runaway bride. Guel awaits Parker to apologize like a grovelling worm and for Miorine to see it, but Miorine leaves.

Miorine enters a greenhouse while agents keep watch outside. Suletta arrives at the doorstep to thank her. She explains how the duelling system works and why Guel is her fiancé because of it. The system was designed that way by her father.

Vim Jeturk, Peil Technologies' co-CEOs, and Sarius Zenelii, representing the group's three highest earners for the current period are attending a meeting at the Benerit Group Front chaired by President Delling Rembran. Many other CEOs also attend remotely via video. Among the remote attendees is the CEO of the Parneo Company, who has recorded a loss for three consecutive periods. Having no need for companies in the red, President Delling hereby suspends their access to the group's finances. The CEO pleads to Delling as they would go bankrupt. Sarius says their financial documents indicate there is potential for recovery but Delling still declines. Delling leaves the meeting room where Rajan Zahi of Dominicus informs him that he's assigned two agents to keep watch on Mistress Miorine.

Suletta is curious about the tomato that Miorine has grown in the Greenhouse. Being Mercurian, Suletta has only known tomato flavouring. As her stomach growls, Miorine gifts her a tomato. She bites into it, finding it delicious. Miorine's mother was the one who made the specific breed, as Miorine explains. In an attempt to emphasize, Suletta says her mother sent her here to study so that she could make Mercury a more prosperous planet. But, between the two of them, only Suletta's mother is alive. Miorine tries to get Suletta to leave by downloading the school map app on her student notebook.

However, they are confronted by Guel who's entourage consists of his underclassmen from the Jeturk House. Making fun of Miorine's farming hobby, he tells her that she will live at Jeturk House to prevent further escape attempts. Despite her father making the rules, Miorine does not agree with the engagement, questioning the very idea of always following what their parents decide. Having been insulted as "daddy's little lap dog", Guel knocks the plants off the walls of the facility. Miorine grabs Guel from behind but he shakes her off, causing the tomatoes to fall on the floor.

Felsi and Petra laugh whereas Suletta believes they all need to stop him, but neither his brother Lauda or the Dominicus agents sent to watch Miorine will do a thing. With Guel threatening to physically harm Miorine, Suletta takes matters into her own hands and gives Guel a slap on the ass and a scolding. She retreats behind Petra when Guel rhetorically asks if she knows who he is. Being new to the school, Suletta's can only answer that he is a pushy suitor, based on what she's observed, this amuses Felsi and Petra. As it turns out, Guel is the heir to one of the three branches of the Benerit Group, head of the Dueling Committee and the reigning Holder—The school's number one pilot, as chosen through duels. With right and wrong being decided through duels, the only way he would give in to apologizing to Miorine is if Suletta's duels him, which he jokingly offers. To his surprise, Suletta accepts. Guel's demand should Suletta lose is for her to leave the school. In spite of the stakes, Suletta does not withdraw her acceptance.

Guel's Dilanza is loaded with spare packs and is on carrier headed for Gate No. 2. His upcoming duel with transfer student Suletta is streamed around the school on various devices. With no obstacles in the passage to the tactical testing grounds, Guel takes off.

Vim prepares to assassinate his long-time friend Delling. He must act before the results of his son's duels are nullified in order to secure the engagement. He orders the detonation to be set for ten minutes before Delling leaves the Benerit Group Front.

Guel's Dilanza deploys at the school's 13th Tactical Testing Sector. Shaddiq calls him a show off. Elan continues reading his book, The World as Will and Representation, rather than watch the duel, and Lauda questions his brother on why he would accept a duel from that "country bumpkin". Intent on becoming the future ace of Dominicus, he sees the Gundam Aerial's approaching, believing Suletta's inside. Secelia notices the tricolor color scheme of Aerial which Rouji compares to the old flag of France. Noticing a lack of a logo on the Aerial, he ponders if it could be handmade. Shaddiq lays out the rules and winning condition of the duel. The camera inside the Aerial's cockpit reveals that it is Miorine not Suletta who's piloting. Suletta figures out how Miorine boarded the Aerial, recalling that Miorine did not return her student notebook after she handed it over to get the student map app downloaded. Realizing she can do the same, she makes a request to Nika. Miorine is duelling in Suletta's place because she is sick of people making decisions for her. Guel approves the change in duel opponent and both opponents say their pregame lines.

Vim reads two minutes left until Delling's assassination. Miorine severely struggles in piloting the Aerial. Unfamiliar with the suit's weapons, she tries firing Beam Vulcans but Guel's Dilanza dodges with ease. The Aerial is knocked down steeply sloped terrain by the blunt end of the Beam Partizan. Chuatury Panlunch, who showing the duel to other Earth House members with a student notebook, comments that she has no chance of winning as she is the "Princess of Management Strategy". Guel points the Beam Partizan at the fallen Aerial, calling Miorine nothing more than a trophy. He suddenly detects an intruder. It is Nika's name and Student ID that shows up on his screen,

Approaching the duelling suits is Suletta on a scooter. The docked Haro detects Suletta is exceeding the speed limit and requests to decrease speed. Nika explains to other students who noticed the name that she helped. Suletta opens the cockpit hatch of her mobile suit and returns Miorine's gesture from when they first met by giving Miorine a headbutt. The argument is heard by all those watching the duel with one student suspecting a falling-out. Miorine's pilot suit is disconnected from the cockpit seat. Suletta vows not lose to the likes of Guel, which prompts him to inform Shaddiq that he's changing opponents again. Cecilia gives him the go ahead.

With Suletta regaining control, the Aerial rises up from its crouching position. Guel advances, opting for a Beam Rifle this time, despite what Lauda thinks. The Aerial's Shell Unit glows red and Bit Staves detach from its body, forming a shield that blocks the incoming beam which disperses onto the Front's virtual background, to Lauda's shock. Guel's Dilanza wields a beam torch but is startled but Guel pauses to see the Bit Staves separating from their shield configuration. The simultaneous beams from the Bit Staves dismember Guel's Dilanza, leaving its pilot helpless. Elan Ceres closes his book and recognizes the Aerial as a GUND-ARM/Gundam. Shaddiq keenly watches Aerial deliver the winning blow; slicing the feathered antenna of Guel's Dilanza off with a Beam Saber.

At 16:11, the detonation is imminent but Vim's aide interrupts, not to intervene but to inform Vim of his son's defeat; even if he were to kill President Delling, Master Guel wouldn't be Mistress Miorine's fiancé. Vim thinks it can only been Grassley's or Peil's suits, but it was neither.

The Aerial's cockpit hatch opens and Miorine steps out on to its left hand to see the remains of Guel's Dilanza. Suletta has won, as indicated by her student notebook, which Miorine undocks from the Aerial to tap the emblem on Suletta's pilot suit with. This action registers Suletta as the new Holder, recoloring her pilot suit from grey to white and changing the emblem to that of the Holder. Miorine adds that this is also the emblem of her fiancé, reminding a confused Suletta that those are the rules. When Suletta states that she is a woman, Miorine presumes Mercury is rather conservative and explains that sort of thing is commonplace here, welcoming her groom.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • The end card is drawn by JNTHED.[6][7]
  • On Crunchyroll's initial simulcast, the English subtitles were initially behind by about 10 seconds. This was fixed around six hours after publishing.[5]
  • Elan Ceres is seen reading The World as Will and Representation by Arthur Schopenhauer.

Dub Differences[]

  • When Guel asks Suletta if she knows who he is, she calls him a "pushy suitor" in the official sub. In the English dub, she instead calls him "kinda pathetic."
