The Rose of Sharon is the ninth episode of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. It was released worldwide on June 4, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Guided by a mysterious message, Machu escapes Sodon and descends alone to Earth in GQuuuuuuX. After crash-landing to Earth, she is rescued by a woman adored as “lady,” who is being held captive in the Kabas estate. Machu decides to escape with her and attempts to flee in the Core Fighter.
Plot[]
The GQuuuuuuX continues its descent into Earth's atmosphere. In order to protect Amate, the GQuuuuuuX disengages its Core Fighter, leading Amate to safety while the suit plunges into the ocean.
Amate awakens the next morning in an unfamiliar bedroom. Her injuries attended to, she learns from the maids serving her that the GQuuuuuuX's Core Fighter has brought her to the Kabas Estate, a brothel in India. The previous night, Amate's possessions were returned to her before being lead into an interrogation with Challia. Challia explained that the Rose of Sharon is an anomalous artifact that should not exist in this universe; in return, he learned from Amate that Shuji is searching for the Rose on Earth. Brought back to her cell, Amate was suddenly contacted by an unknown number on her smartphone, heralded by the message "Let's get the Beginning". The mysterious sender unlocked Amate's cell door and provided safe guidance to the GQuuuuuuX. Aware of the strange texts, Challia allowed Amate to escape, hoping that she would lead them to the Rose.
With downtime on her hands, Amate explores her unfamiliar surroundings, only to come across a young girl named Lalah Sune in the estate's backyard. Lalah reveals that she is not the fabled Rose of Sharon, and that she does not see the future like her maids claim, but her dreams are dominated by visions of "the other side". In the worlds of her dreams, Lalah falls in love with a young Zeon officer who takes her away from the Kabas Estate, only for him to be struck down by a young boy piloting a gleaming white mobile suit whom she also falls in love with. Regardless of how many dreams she experiences, the outcome is always the same, and Lalah curses her inability to protect the man in red.
That night, Lalah's maids reveal that she has commanded them to assist Amate with a daring plan to escape Kabas Estate. Soon after, the entire estate goes up in flames, with Amate bringing Lalah to the crashed Core Fighter to escape with her. However, as Amate starts up the aircraft, the estate's master appears. Believing that she must wait for her destined lover, Lalah commands Amate to leave alone and find the Rose. The GQuuuuuuX's Core Fighter flies off with Amate as she begs Lalah to join her.
The next morning, Amate is greeted by the sight of the rising sun over the ocean. Having located the abandoned suit, the Core Fighter dives to the ocean's depths, where Amate discovers the GQuuuuuuX next to a massive craft. As the GQuuuuuuX ascends to the surface, Amate finds herself at the mercy of the Sodon, who tracked her to the Rose.
The Sodon fishes the craft out of the ocean, which Challia confirms as the real Rose of Sharon. To Comoli's surprise, the craft is an unknown mobile armor whose development was never completed in this universe, in its pilot seat a girl from another world, frozen in time.

Notes & Trivia[]
- On-Air End Card: Amate Yuzuriha, Lalah Sune
- Hidenori Matsubara wanted to use CG to depict Challia's irises spinning like gears (an effect present in Mobile Suit Gundam).
- Ikuto Yamashita thought the effect in the original was due to prosthetic eyes; however, he was informed it was an "expression of concentration".
- During the re-screening of GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- in June 2025, Anno stated that the GQX's equivalent of Miharu Ratokie, Kai Shiden, Matilda Ajan, and Woody Malden would have appeared to meet Amate.
Callbacks to previous Gundam series[]

- The way GQuuuuuuX enters the atmosphere by using its shield to block the heat is the same way RX-78-2 Gundam entered the atmosphere.
- Lalah Sune commented on birds upon sensing Amate's approach, similar to how her prime counterpart commented on the drowning bird when Amuro was near her.
