High school girl Amate happens to meet a smuggler girl named Nyaan, and gets involved with an illegal junk shop. Military police’s Zaku begins combat within the colony against the Red Gundam that violated the airspace. Caught up in the chaos, Amate pilots the GQuuuuuuX.[1]

Five years after the One Year War's end, Commander Challia Bull, Char Aznable's former comrade, leads a Zeon task force aboard Sodon to the colony Izuma of Side 6 in pursuit of the Red Gundam, which has mysteriously reappeared. On said colony, high-school student Amate Yuzuriha has a run-in with a refugee girl, Nyaan, who was in the midst of a smuggling job, and ends up encountering the underground Clan Battle team Pomeranians in their junk parts shop. At the same time, Challia sends the GQuuuuuuX, piloted by Newtype Ensign Xavier Olivette, to capture the Red Gundam. Both mobile suits end up fighting inside the colony itself, causing the local military police to respond. Xavier, however, has difficulty activating the GQuuuuuuX's experimental Omega-Psycommu system and is forced to deploy a smokescreen before abandoning it in an underground bulkhead chamber of the colony.
The military police attempt to haphazardly search for the two Gundams, resulting in much destruction of the refugee slums as they crush buildings and peel off roofs with no regard for the inhabitants. Angry at the military police's abuse of power, Amate forces the Pomeranians Zaku out of hiding, but is promptly beat down into the same underground chamber where Xavier was hiding the GQuuuuuuX. Amate decides to commandeer the GQuuuuuuX, with the Omega-Psycommu activating in her presence, and swiftly disables the military police mobile suits with the help of a colourful, sparkling vision, while the Red Gundam escapes back into space. It quickly flies past Sodon, astounding the crew except for Challia, who laments that it is not Char he senses piloting inside, but now wonders who it could be.
From an alley in the distance, Nyaan looks on rather helplessly at the wreckage and casualties brought on by the military police and the earlier scuffle between the two Gundams as emergency crews arrive, and moves on to her next odd job.
