The TR Plan is a mobile suit development plan introduced in Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans and Advance of Zeta Re-Boot: Gundam Inle.

History[]

The TR Plan was the next-generation mainstay mobile suit development initiative undertaken by the Titans, with the goal of creating a highly versatile MS capable of adapting to any combat scenario through equipment and parts replacement. Each model from TR-1 to TR-5 served as a testbed for new technologies, systems, and combat roles, culminating in the creation of the TR-6 [Inle]—the ultimate form of the project.[1]

While the TR Plan was primarily focused on flexibility and modularity, it also functioned as a decisive battle weapon development program, with the Titans' political influence ensuring generous resource allocation and budgetary support. The TR-6 was completed near the end of the Gryps Conflict, and although the war ended shortly thereafter, design data and some components of the Inle were recovered and taken to Mars by Titans remnants. These would later play a key role in the founding war of ReZeon. Moreover, many of the technologies tested and implemented during the TR Plan influenced the development of later-generation mobile weapons.[1]

Overview[]

TR-1[]

The TR-1 series were multi-role mobile suits developed to perform a wide variety of missions through the use of interchangeable optional equipment. Aimed at achieving high flexibility and adaptability, numerous option parts were created for the TR-1 platform. Among these, the Hazel-Rah, equipped with the FF-X29A G-Parts [Hrududu], demonstrated especially outstanding maneuverability.[1]

The Hazel Owsla, featuring a Primrose-type escape pod cockpit, was designed for compatibility with certain option parts of the TR-6 [Inle]. Furthermore, the TR-1 was outfitted with a Gundam-type head unit as part of a psychological warfare strategy, intended to intimidate anti-Federation factions, particularly remnants of the Principality of Zeon. These experimental efforts and accumulated data ultimately led to the development of the TR-6 [Woundwort], the core machine from which all enhanced TR-6 forms are derived.[1]

TR-2[]

The TR-2 "Bi-Zack" was developed to test and validate high-output beam weaponry that could be utilized by both mobile suits (MS) and mobile armors (MA). Its primary focus was the Hyper Long-Range Beam Cannon, the main armament intended for the TR-6 [Inle]. This weapon was a high-powered, long-range beam cannon designed to be mounted and operated across multiple MS/MA platforms. In addition to testing the cannon itself, the TR-2 program also served to verify the supporting systems—propulsion, power delivery, and fire control mechanisms—necessary for such a weapon. [1]

For its control unit, the YRMS-106 Hi-Zack Pre-Production Type was used. This selection was made because its structure was more modular and adaptable compared to standard Earth Federation GM-series suits. By reconfiguring the power pipe connections, the Hizack unit could serve as an energy supply platform for the beam cannon. The knowledge gained from this testbed led to the development of the Bigwig Cannon II, an advanced, more powerful version of the weapon, which would later be mounted at the center of the TR-6 [Fiver II]'s frame, making it the most powerful beam weapon in the TR-6 system.[1]

TR-3[]

The TR-3 series consists of small, carrier-based mobile suits equipped with transformation systems. These machines were developed as improved versions of the prototype Asshimar, originally a test platform for variable transformation mechanisms. After initial testing in space, the TR-3 units were modified for atmospheric use, allowing them to undergo evaluation under gravity conditions.[1]

The data collected from these tests directly contributed to the development of the Kehaar Unit for the Woundwort, which serves as the core MS of the TR-6 system. When equipped with the Kehaar Unit, the Woundwort can transform into the Asshimar-type variable flying MA TR-6 [Kehaar II]. This form is smaller and more refined than the original Asshimar, allowing six Kehaar II units to be carried aboard the Inle as combat support units. Through the flexible use of these reinforcement parts and transformation options, the TR-6 achieves its ultimate goal—becoming a replacement successor to all existing Titans mobile suits.[1]

TR-4[]

The TR-4 series centers around atmospheric entry capabilities, focusing on transformation systems optimized for high-speed descent and adaptation to changing conditions. Its representative machine is the RX-107 Rosette, equipped with the atmospheric entry module known as the TR-4 [Dandelion]. This unit is designed to adapt its form depending on the phase of re-entry and battlefield conditions, allowing it to perform at peak capacity in each scenario. However, because parts are jettisoned during transformation, it cannot revert to its original form once deployed.[1]

Based on the data collected from the TR-4's performance, the TR-6 [Dandelion II] was developed. This upgraded unit serves as the atmospheric entry module for the [Woundwort], and also forms the lower half of the completed [Inle].[1]

TR-5[]

The TR-5 series was developed to test and implement new equipment for long-distance invasion and enemy base domination. Built around the concept of "supersonic assault via ballistic trajectory," its core unit is the ORX-005 Gaplant TR-5 [Hrairoo]. Designed to be operated by a single pilot or a small team, it features composite defense binders that provide protection against both beam weapons and kinetic projectiles.[1]

The advanced development of this unit led to the creation of the RX-124 Gundam TR-6 [Fiver II], which serves as the upper half of the [Inle]. Mounted on the upper binders of the Fiver II are six [Kehaar II] units—three on each side.[1]

TR-6[]

The Inle represents the culmination of the TR Plan—the ultimate evolution of the TR-6 series. Officially designated as RX-124 Gundam TR-6 [Inle], it is a decisive battle weapon built around the Woundwort as its core, equipped with the upper module Fiver II and the lower module Dandelion II. [1]

At the heart of the TR Project was the concept of creating a ballistic weapon capable of penetrating enemy lines and suppressing them single-handedly. However, due to its enormous scale and system complexity—surpassing even that of the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam—developing it as a single unit was deemed unfeasible. As a result, the project was broken down into five development branches, from TR-1 to TR-5, each focusing on different functions and mechanisms. These test machines verified the practicality of their respective technologies, which were ultimately unified and integrated into the Inle.[1]

The TR Project also encompassed the development of the SSD (Starship Down), a satellite orbital base designed as the Inle’s deployment platform. Future plans included upgrading the Inle for Cyber Newtype-exclusive use via a Psycommu system, as well as equipping it with interplanetary navigation boosters in preparation for operations targeting outer planets.[1]
