The TRX-007[1] Delphinium was a mobile weapon introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam Valpurgis.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
An imitation of a certain unit from the Gundam Development Project, the Delphinium was developed for an expeditionary attack on Axis.[2] Its development was later continued by the Clan, who redesigned it using large Transformable Mobile Armors like the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam as references and made use of technologies that were considered cutting edge during the Gryps Conflict, such as movable frame and magnet coating. As a result, the Delphinium became a TMA, granting it more flexibility during use.[2][3]
Being a prototype weapon, its core unit was a junk mobile suit created using a mix of existing Gundam type and GM type parts. For increased pilot survivability, it was equipped with optional Full Armor, though the usefulness of this in combat is unknown.[3]
Its main weapon was a twin mega beam cannon that could also serve as twin beam saber, mounted on the right arm. An I-Field generator was mounted on its left arm. It was also armed with large cluster missiles in its weapon containers, as well as a pair of head-mounted vulcan guns on its core unit.[1]

History[]
The prototype of the Delphinium was developed by Storm, a special duties group within the Earth Federation Forces, in U.C. 0085. It was intended to be used in an expeditionary attack on the Axis, which was hidden within the asteroid belt.[4] Since Storm harbored Earthnoid supremacist sentiments, it was developed independently of Anaheim Electronics. Howeever, since Anaheim created the framework for existing mobile weapons, this proved to be very difficult. Because of this, it suffered problems with its mobility, cruise range, maneuverability, and strain on the pilot.[2]
In U.C. 0087, the Axis arrived in the Earth Sphere, making the expeditionary attack plan moot. Being an outdated, pre-movable frame design, the unfinished Delphinium was abanadoned.[4] The home base of Storm was later taken over by the Clan, who finished the Delphinium using the cutting edge technologies of the time, turning it into a transformable mobile armor.[2]

- The Delphinium core unit's head appears to be wearing the headgear worn by the SD Gundam BB Senshi version of Full Armor Gundam NT-1 (later included in the Master Grade 2.0 model kit).
- The concept of Delphinium's MS design, as a "core" Gundam piloting and "exosuit", may have derived from an early design plan of RX-78GP03 Gundam "Dendrobium" by Shōji Kawamori.
