The Sylph is an atmospheric transport aircraft that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation Code Fairy.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Sylph was an extra large transport aircraft developed by the Principality of Zeon and used exclusively by the Noisy Fairy Squadron during the One Year War. Very similar in design and purpose to Zeon's Fat Uncle transport, the Sylph had a much boxier design and is about twice as long. The majority of the airframe's bulk is comprised of its cargo hanger. The Sylph could carry several mobile suits standing upright in its cargo bay, including very large mobile weapons like the MS-09[NF] Dom Gnomides. The cargo bay could be accessed by either two sliding doors on the front sides of the cargo bay, or a larger ramp on the rear of the aircraft. All of these could be opened during flight to perform tactical airdrops of mobile suit forces. The Sylph uses four large VTOL rotors for lift, the rear two rotors being slightly smaller than the front-most pair, and four thermonuclear jet engines for thrust. It does not have any armaments, but has extra sensors and antennas for improved command and control.
History[]
The Sylph was the Noisy Fairy Squadron's tactical transport and mobile command headquarters during operations on the North American Front during the One Year War.
