History[]
A.S. 122[]
The Space Assembly League has long been concerned with the Benerit Group's evergrowing administrative overreach, which challenged their own authority, and wished to disband the corporate conglomerate. Needing a sufficient fighting force for such a task, they secretly funded the supposedly disbanded Earth-based weapon manufacturer Ochs Earth Corporation, having them build GUND-ARMs for them. It is also implied that the League and Shaddig Zenelli was the sponsor of Earth-based anti-Spacian organization Dawn of Fold, whose activities undermined the Benerit Group, giving them the EDM-GA-01 Gundam Lfrith Ur and EDM-GA-02 Gundam Lfrith Thorn.[1]
The League finally came out in the open after the Peil Technologies leadership betrayed the Benerit Group's by blaming terrorism of Dawn of Fold is Benerit Group's fault in wake of Miorine Rembran's appointment as the conglomerate's new president. Using this justification, the League's council unanimously voted for a resolution ordering for the Benerit Group to disband and send out a fleet to enforce the directive. However, the League's force ends up being destroyed en route to the conglomerate's headquarters by Quiet Zero, which had been commandeered by Prospera Mercury.[2]
With their fleet destroyed, the League's leadership intend to fire the Interplanetary Laser Transmission System at Quiet Zero under the guise of an "accidental discharge", which would damage all of Lagrange 4's fronts in its path; the League chairman planned to take full responsibility, after which Peil Technologies would lead the reconstruction efforts, while promising its four CEOs control of the Benerit Group. However, before they can, the Benerit Group succeeds in shutting down the superweapon and the conglomerate's former president, Delling Rembran, demands the League stand down. Unfortunately, the League's leadership refuses to negotiate, arguing the Benerit Group has "grown too big", and fires the weapon, only for the shot to be blocked by Ericht Samaya using the XVX-016RN Gundam Aerial Rebuild.[3]
In response, the League prepares a second shot, undeterred by Miorine disbanding the Benerit Group and threatening to expose the League's involvement with recent terrorist attacks. However, Suletta Mercury then used the GUND Format of the X-EX01 Gundam Calibarn, the Aerial Rebuild, the FP/A-77 Gundam Pharact and the MDX-0003 Gundam Schwarzette to project a powerful data storm that shut down the laser, thwarting the League's plot.[4]
