Sophie Pulone (ソフィ・プロネ Sofi Purone?), is a character in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. She is the pilot of Gundam Lfrith Ur from the Dawn of Fold.
Personality & Character[]
Sophie is a sadistic and aggressive girl. She is excitable and impulsive, and appears to enjoy fighting and threatening her enemies, as evidenced by her threatening Guel Jeturk with a gun as well as her maniacal laughter and joy while piloting her Gundam. She has no hesitation about destroying a space station full of civilians as collateral damage when targeting Delling Rembran for an assassination attempt. She is confident in her fighting abilities and is eager to prove herself, rushing into battle without waiting for her allies to back her up.
She is so enthusiastic about proving her strength and winning that she raises her Gundam's permet score to higher and higher levels even as it puts massive strain on her body. She does not appear to have much fear of death or a strong sense of self preservation, instead opting for victory even at great personal risk. In fact she even felt a degree of ecstasy while operating her Gundam. She also has skill as an orator, openly pointing out the contradictions between Suletta Mercury's belief that the Aerial is a mobile suit meant to save lives and the sheer destructive power of the mobile suit.
When she is on missions, she has a tendency to act as a “Wild Card”. When Norea Du Noc instructed her to fire on her signal, Sophie interrupted her and told her to fire on hers. She also decided to take her own initiative to accomplish the assassination attempt on Delling Rembran rather than follow orders. Easily excitable in combat, Sophie also has an interest in fellow witches and Gundams like Suletta and the Aerial, both of whom she had watched through videos of their duels, and was in euphoric delight at fighting both, developing an obsession towards both.
In her last moments, she turns on Suletta, realizing that Ericht Samaya is the Aerial and the one she wanted to fight so badly.
History[]
Sophie is an Earthian, and at some point became associated with the anti-Spacian terrorist group known as the Dawn of Fold. She appears to be friends with Norea Du Noc, another member of the group. She also seems to enjoy watching videos online, and she becomes a fan of Suletta Mercury after seeing her in the Gund-ARM commercial and in her duels.

Notes & Trivia[]
- Her bloodthirsty nature is similar to that of Nena Trinity's in the Anno Domini timeline. They also held a similar admiration of their respective series' protagonists (Nena towards Setsuna; Sophie towards Suletta).
- Sophie has the same English voice actor as Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, while Norea Du Noc shares Lucy's Japanese voice actress.
