The Solar System is the star system where Earth, the birthplace of humanity, is located. It consists of the Sun, four terrestrial planets, four gas giant planets, and numerous moons, dwarf planets, and smaller bodies.
All series in the Gundam franchise take place within the Solar System. In most series, the Solar System is demarcated into "spheres", political zones centered on a specific planet that encompass all natural and artificial satellites orbiting it. The Earth Sphere is the most common sphere featured across the franchise, but the Mars Sphere and Jupiter Sphere have also made appearances.
