Shingo Mori(シンゴ・モリ) is a fictional character from the After War Gundam X anime.
Profile[]
Shingo Mori is the pilot and navigator of the Freeden under the command of Jamil Neate. A skilled pilot, Shingo is able to navigate the Alps-class through difficult situations with ease.
Life as a Vulture[]
Shingo watches in shock as Garrod Ran unleashes the Satellite Cannon.[1] He is tasked with watching over Garrod after he is captured by Jamil, but is knocked out on numerous occasions by Garrod Ran with the use of a type of sleeping powder, always waking up after Garrod had returned to his cell. He is also present when Olba Frost boards the Freeden, noticing that he seems rather refined for a Vulture.[2] He does not agree with Jamil Neate's plan to go after the Alternative Company's labs in order to treat Tiffa Adill and listens as Sala questions why he is so fixated on her, but accepts Jamil's explanation.[3]
Fort Severn[]
When Tiffa draws a picture of the location of the next Newtype, Shingo narrows it down to Fort Severn and the Freeden heads towards that direction.[4]
Zonder Epta[]
Shingo finalises a sale of some Daughtress mobile suits when the Freeden reaches Wellgrass. He later relaxes on the beach with the other members of the crew.[5] The next day, Garrod reports to Jamil about seeing the Satellite System being used in the distance. Toniya asks Shingo what that means, and he explains to her that it means someone else is also using a Gundam X.[6]
After the crew is captured on Zonder Epta, Shingo informs the rest of the crew about the coded message that Jamil gave the bridge members. He informs Garrod and the others that they were told to escape at sunset the next day. He gives Garrod a boost so that he can enter a vent and look around the facility. The crew make their escape, but realise their plans were leaked and end up in a shootout against the New UNE.[7]
South Asia Front[]
After Tiffa is taken away, the crew head to a New UNE supply base in order to allow Garrod to chase after her. The New UNE soon arrive and attack the supply base. Shingo and the others attempt to hold them off until Garrod can launch. He persuades Jamil along with Sala Tyrrell and Toniya Malme to allow them ram the Freeden into the enemy Bandaal. After the Bandaal is brought down and the Freeden destroyed, Shingo watches as Garrod flies off into space.[8]
8th Space War[]
Shingo is captured along with the other crew members by the New UNE, and they are taken away for execution. They are rescued by Carris Nautilus. The crew learn that Garrod and Tiffa have already returned from space[9] and reunite with them together with Carris. They head with Carris to the New Orleans Base, and Jamil requests some time to think about what the crew should do.[10] After they steal a ship from the rebels, Shingo boards the new Freeden II as the ships pilot and navigator and heads to the moon with the others.[11] After the war begins, Shingo continues with his role on the Freeden II. He is brought to the moon by D.O.M.E. along with the others,[12] and listens as D.O.M.E. reveals the truth about Newtypes.[13]
Following the war, Shingo seems to retire from piloting ships and instead works in the "Freeden III" alongside Kid Salsamille, Rococo, Nine and Pala Sys.[14]
