History[]
Shaddiq recruited several members from Grassley's Orphanages to join his faction with the promise of putting the Earth and Space on equal footing[2]. Five of these students became close collaborators and were admitted into the Asticassia School of Technology under Grassley House, although they kept their Earthian affinities hidden[3].
Shaddiq reached out to the Pro-Earthian terrorist group the Dawn of Fold and came to an agreement where they would begin supplying and collaborating with each other, with Nika Nanaura serving as a go-between for the two groups. Shaddiq established a fake company to enable Nika's entry into Asticassia, where she would join the Earth House [4].
While operating under Grassley House, the group attempted to shut down GUND-ARM, Inc. by changing the school rules of Asticassia regarding startups[5]. However, Miorine Rembran challenged Shaddiq and the five pilots to a duel against the Earth House to revert the rules. The Earth House won the duel, and the rules were reversed[6].
After hearing from Sarius that he rejected a plan proposed by Vim Jeturk to assassinate Delling Rembran, Shaddiq began making a plan with the Dawn of Fold to do so by attacking Plant Quetta. Shaddiq used his connections within Grassley Defense Systems and the faction to supply the group with units, including six MD-0021 Desultor mobile suits to cast suspicion on Jeturk Heavy Machinery [7]. Vim collaborated with the group to place a tracker on Delling inside Plant Quetta. However, after Vim confirmed the task but insulted Shaddiq's status as an orphan, Shaddiq ordered Sabina to signal the Dawn of Fold to begin their attack [8].
However, the assassination attempt proved to be a failure, as Delling was merely rendered comatose and the Dawn of Fold was forced to retreat[9]. In the aftermath, Sarius, who was made acting president of the Benerit Group, ordered Shaddiq to recuse himself from the dueling committee.[10].
However, Shaddiq made plans to supplant his father. Using the same dummy corporation, he admitted Dawn of Fold pilots, Sophie Pulone and Norea Du Noc, to Asticassia during the Open Campus, where they immediately joined Earth House.[10]. Subsequently, Sophie and Norea attacked the Rumble Ring, acting as a distraction to allow Maisie May and Ireesha Plano to abduct Sarius. Sophie ended up killing herself for raising her Permet score too high while fighting Suletta Mercury. At the same time, Henao Jazz caught Nika attempting to call the Front Management Company to confess everything[4]. Both Sarius and Nika were imprisoned in Grassley House's residences.
Becoming acting head of Grassley Defense Systems, Shaddiq made plans to win the upcoming election for Benerit Group president, after which he would sell of the Group's assets to Earth.[3].
In his bid for the presidency, Shaddiq struck an alliance with Peil Technologies, promising them control of GUND-ARM Inc. and the Aerial in exchange for their support. Later, during the third duel between Suletta and Guel, Elan Ceres leveraged the Shaddiq Faction to grant him sanctuary from Peil, having figured out the connection between them and the Dawn of Fold during the Rumble Ring.[11].
Following the Quinharbor massacre, Shaddiq predicted that the incident would grant more support to Miorine, who was campaigning against him. This forced the Shaddiq Faction to attempt to move Sarius to the custody of the Space Assembly League. However, they were intercepted by Guel and Kenanji Avery, having learned of his connection to the Dawn of Fold, and were attempting to rescue Sarius, and engaged the Shaddiq Faction after Guel recklessly accused them without evidence. During the fighting, Shaddiq remotely released Norea, who went on a rampage in Asticassia, before being neutralized by Dominicus. In combat, Guel Jeturk disabled Sabina's and Shaddiq's mobile suits, and the group was soon surrounded by reinforcements from the Front Management Company. Shaddiq's remaining subordinates surrendered, and the ship containing Sarius was retrieved [12].
Shaddiq and the pilots were imprisoned after Dominicus secured the school, although Miorine assured Shaddiq that his collaborators would remain unharmed. Sarius regained control of the Grassley.[13].
Nika told Martin Upmont that she would turn herself in to the authorities to make penance for her role with the Shaddiq Faction, although she hoped she could return to Asticassia after serving a sentence [13].
As the Earth House and other adults on the Benerit Front prepared to fight against Quiet Zero, Miorine proposed a deal with Shaddiq [14]. He then contacted the Dawn of Fold, who provided evidence of the Assembly League's involvement in the recent attacks, which Miorine made in a public broadcast to deprive the Assembly League of their casus belli against the Benerit Group before declaring the Group's dissolution.[15].
Three years later, Shaddiq formally takes responsibility not only for Plant Quetta, but also for Quiet Zero. When Miorine questioned his decision, he told her he decided long ago. Afterwards, while Shaddiq attended his trial, Nika and the five Grassley pilots were released from prison and joined Miorine and Earth House in reuniting with Suletta on Earth.[15].
