Sayla Mass (セイラ・マス, Seira Masu^?), born Artesia Som Deikun (アルテイシア・ソム・ダイクン , Aruteishia Somu Daikun^?) is a character in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-.

Personality & Character

Sayla is willing to take advantage of her brother's hesitation against him, knowing that he outmatches her in mobile suit combat.

She appears to be a lone wolf as she confronts Char by herself. Since Earth lost the One Year War to Zeon in this timeline, the final nature of her relationship with Amuro and his fate are unknown.

Like her main counterpart, Sayla is a skilled pilot in her own right when using the Light Cannon to defeat Dozle Zabi and to hold her ground against Char in his Red Gundam.

During the One Year War, she operated a white Light-Type Guncannon and took part in the First Battle of Solomon; responsible for the death of Dozle Zabi, the commander of the Solomon base. During the mission to divert Solomon from Zeon's lunar base Granada, Char Aznable encountered her Light Cannon, wielding a Gundam Hammer, which he recognized as his sister piloting it. In the ensuing confrontation, Sayla's Light Cannon launched an attack on Char's Red Gundam, resulting in a tunnel collapse that ultimately trapped him.

Following the demise of Supreme Commander Gihren Zabi and Major General Kycilia Zabi in the Yomagn'tho incident, the Zabi family's grip over Zeon was broken. Sayla resumed her original name, Artesia Som Deikun, and returned to Side 3 to be inaugurated as the new leader of Zeon with Ramba Ral as her guard. Lady Artesia's ascension was the ultimate goal of Challia Bull's conspiracy to eliminate the Zabis, as Challia believed only Artesia, and not her brother Casval, could usher in a new age of true freedom for Newtypes and peace between the peoples of space and Earth.
