Saint Gotthard Colony is a group of space colonies introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam Aggressor.
Overview[]
Saint Gotthard Colony is located at Side 2, and consists of 33 space colonies. The cluster is named for its capital colony, the Island-3 open-type cylinder Saint Gotthard, a resort destination notable for being the first testbed for colony weather control technology designed to replicate winter weather, ranging from light snowfall to blizzard conditions. The capital also features multiple floating docks to accommodate ships.
Saint Gotthard Colony is owned and administered by the Barbarossa Foundation, which is led by Lichtenstein Barbarossa, a wealthy industrialist from Side 3 who supported Zeon Zum Deikun and was forced into exile after the Zabi family rose to power and established the Principality of Zeon. During the One Year War, Saint Gotthard Colony was ostensibly a pocket of Side 2 that remained independent of Zeon and quietly provided aid to the Earth Federation due to Barbarossa's enmity against the Zabis. However, early on in the war, Zeon forces killed Lichtenstein's daughter and took his granddaughter hostage, and he was coerced into allowing the mysterious Tombstone Project to operate within the capital colony.
