Sabina Fardin (サビーナ・ファルディン Sabīna Farudin?), is a character in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. She is a third-year student in the piloting department at Asticassia School of Technology and the right-hand woman of Shaddiq in Grassley House.
Personality & Character[]
Sabina is Shaddiq's closest and most capable confidant, often accompanying and assisting him with both his tasks within Asticassia and his outside work. However, she is not afraid to correct him when warranted, especially if he is getting sidetracked with stray thoughts.[1] Sabina also serves as the main leader of the Grassley House pilots and maintains a strong sense of discipline among them to accomplish their goals.
Despite her close involvement with Shaddiq, she sees their arrangement as a pragmatic convenience for her own ends of putting the Earth on more equal footing with Space. She believes that ideals alone are not enough to change the state of the world, and she is willing to use ruthless and even violent means to achieve her aims. She has set aside her Earthian heritage for the sake of maintaining her status and plans.[1]
Sabina has a compassionate side towards her teammates and allies, such as protecting Nika from Norea's attack and offering her the chance to study elsewhere so long as she joined her cause. [1]
History[]
Sabina was born on Earth and was one of the war orphans taken in under Grassley's child-rearing academy. She graduated and was admitted into Asticassia while serving under Shaddiq[4], though she distanced herself from her Earthian heritage afterwards.[1]

Sabina was present with Shaddiq and Elan as they talked about how Suletta was arrested after her first duel against Guel for using a Gundam.[5]

Rumble Ring and Aftermath[]
After the Rumble Ring attack, Sabina managed to provide a safe harbor for Norea while the other Grassley pilots brought in Sarius and Nika. When Norea began stomping on and screaming at Nika for saying her methods would cause more suffering, Sabina held her back and said she would not let her kill Nika, reminding Norea that they controlled her fate. Norea relented but called Sabina a traitor.[6]
Sabina was present with the rest of the Grassley pilots when Shaddiq talked with the other Benerit CEOs about the upcoming election to replace Delling. When the girls discussed Miorine potentially running, Shaddiq commented that she would not get far unless one of the Three Branches supported her, but Sabina cut him off before he could go further. Shaddiq then insisted he had moved past Miorine and would run on his own.

Sabina later treated Nika's injuries, which she thanked her for. Sabina said she had observed Nika at school and offered her the chance to join with her and Shaddiq, saying they can transfer her to another school to realize her goals of bridging the Earth and Space. When Nika declined because of her beliefs about not using unjust means, Sabina revealed that she was an Earthian as well and shared her goals, but she countered that Nika's ideals were insufficient to achieve them on her own, so she would remain captive for now.[1]

- In Episode 9, when all the Grassley House pilots had their pictures displayed in the lead up to their duel with the Earth House, Sabina had a large contingent of female fans.
