SBG-E01 Shin Burning Gundam

The SBG-E01 Shin Burning Gundam (SBG-E01 神バーニングガンダム Shin Bāningu Gandamu?) is a Gunpla introduced in Gundam Build Metaverse. An upgraded version of the KMK-B01 Kamiki Burning Gundam, it is built and piloted by Sekai Kamiki.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

An upgraded version of the Kamiki Burning Gundam following the application of further customizations.[1] A wing-shaped unit called the "Wing Burning" is mounted on the back of the Gunpla, improving offensive and defensive capabilities[1]

Armaments[]

  • Tachi
A large sword incorporated into the Gunpla based on Sekai's personally developed Kamiki Gunpla school of kenpo.[2] Sharp enough to slice even a beam in half, its blade can emit energy made of burning flames.[2] Originally unnamed, it is later given the name "Sanki Ichimonji".[2] This weapon embodies Sekai's bond with his friends, the very people who introduced him to the world of Gunpla.[2] When not in use, the Tachi is stored in a scabbard mounted on the rear waist armor.[2]

Special Equipment & Features[]

  • Wing Burning
A new winged unit, inspired by the equipment of a black Gunpla used by a silver-haired, middle-aged opponent Sekai battled during his martial arts training, who claimed to have ties to his master.[2] This equipment functions as a posture stabilizer during aerial and space combat, and has two different modes: Wing Burning Kou No Kata and Wing Burning I No Kata.[2]
  • Wing Burning Kou No Kata
A battle mode in which energy is emitted from the Wing Burning's slits, forming wings made of flames.[2] Speed is considerably increased.[2]
  • Wing Burning I No Kata
A mode in which the Wing Burning shifts to cover the front and rear, enveloping the Gunpla like a cloak of flames.[2] Defense functions are boosted, while its appearance inspires awe in onlookers.[2]
  • En-Jin Burning Burst System
The Burning Burst System is a system that boosts the amount of stored energy released from a Gunpla, pushing the Gunpla to the limit.[2] The En-Jin Burning Burst System installed in the Shin Burning Gundam exceeds all limits, its dazzling clear parts aid in the release of energy, supplying the Gunpla with so much power, it may as well be called a god of flames.[2]

  • Kamiki Gunpla School Martial Arts
The Kamiki Gunpla-ryū (カミキガンプラ流 Kamiki Gunpla School?) is a form of martial arts created by Sekai Kamiki for use in Gunpla Battle. It is based on the Jigen Haoh School Martial Arts.
  • Enouzan
An ultimate secret technique (ōgi (奥義(おうぎ) ultimate mystery?)) of the Kamiki Gunpla School.[3] Different from the earlier ultimate secret technique Houou Haoh-Ken, this attack is a flaming sword slash using the Tachi.[3]

History[]

Sekai pours his soul into training, but soon begins to realize his own limits.[2] Eager to overcome his shortcomings, he completely disables his beloved Kamiki Burning Gundam, and challenges himself to rebuild it blindfolded, using only his hands to guide him.[2] His plan was to approach "assimilation" from another angle.[2] Assimilation is the process of merging one's senses with the Gunpla to draw out its utmost capabilities in battle, and Sekai was attempting a "reverse assimilation", where he merges the sensation of his Gunpla into himself.[2] There, in total darkness, he uncovers a brand new version of his cherished Gunpla.[2] With his training completed, and his Kamiki Burning Gundam rebuilt, Sekai works to customize it even further to match his ideal build.[2] As a result, the Shin Burning Gundam was created, and it serves as proof that Sekai overcame his limits.[2]

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Like its predecessor, the name 'Shin Burning Gundam' seems to be derived from its predecessors and Sekai's family name. Like the Kamiki Burning Gundam, the kanji for "God (神 Shin?)" can be seen on the Shin Burning Gundam's left shoulder, in this case being read as "Shin" rather than "Kami".
  • Since Sekai's master is a homage to Domon Kasshu, the silver-haired, middle-aged opponent Sekai battled during his training is likely a homage to Master Asia.
