Robota (ロボ太 Robota?) is a character from the video game Gundam Breaker 3.
Background[]
Robota is a prototype Toybot and Artificial Intelligence developed by Heim Robotics. He is child-sized and was built in the image of SD Knight Gundam, forms of which he also uses to participate in Gunpla battles. Robota becomes the third member of the Ayato Shopping District gunpla team.
History[]
Robota was loaned to the Ayato Shopping District gunpla team by Kadomatsu so they could test its programming before the company decided to bring it to market. He was named by Misa, who was the first to activate him. Robota can not speak naturally, his body does not possess speakers because Heim had concerns about the effects a talking AI could have on child's development and bonding. However, Robota understands when spoken to and can communicate non-verbally, even with other robots like Info-chan by using optical signals. Upon entering the Gunpla battle simulator Robota quickly realizes he can use the game to give himself a voice, since it would be beneficial in a team game. Kadomatsu has some misgivings about the AI learning to do that so quickly, but can't bring himself to deactivate Robota after Misa pleads a case for him.
Robota continues to battle with the Ayato Shopping District team, and Kadomatsu develops some upgrades to Robota's in-game Gunpla allowing him to use new SD Gundam forms, and even creating a mission for Robota to defeat Satan Gundam to become Full Armor Knight Gundam, and later Versal Knight Gundam. Following the World Tournament, Robota uses the Knight Unicorn Gundam (Beast Mode) and ultimately the Knight Superior Dragon.
In the wake of the incident where the cyberterrorist Nazirul attempts to drop the Geostationary Satellite Station from its orbit and onto Earth, Robota ventures out into space and succeeds in disabling the life-size Gundam by attaching his power cord onto his lance diverting all of his power into an electro-spear attack. A resulting explosion causes Robota to be thrown into space and, with his batteries drained, he shuts down.
Robota drifts through space for thirty years before technology reaches a point where he could be located and retrieved. He is found by Info-chan, who is piloting a life-sized civilian model Gundam. They begin their return trip to reunite with all their friends. Robota is stunned to see how far technology has come in just thirty years, and he asks Info-chan if he can fly the Gundam, but she won't allow him because he doesn't have a license.
During his absence, Robota had left behind a legacy as his recorded data was instrumental in the creation of Gunpla Battle's home port successor, Gunpla Battle Blaze: Beyond Borders, specifically with the creation and implementation of A.I.. This resulted in the creation of the central A.I. Aura as well as other entities such as Lilin and Artal, the latter of whom served as his direct successor.
