RX-81 G-Line's core is called the Basic Frame, or the base frame. The RX-81 has several number of armors it can change into. RX-81 G-Line Basic Frame did not load any armed pattern; although the head is easy to identify with the design for the RGM-79, the sensor lenses are similar to a Gundams. Corresponding increase for the installation of a variety of armor, waist and shoulders are not armored, very simple ferrite and all parts are set to have additional armor with weapons pylons. RX-81 G-Line Basic Frame parts increase its performance and specifications with the RX-78 are basically the same.

Limited mass production of the RX-81 were made because of the high cost of building them. In 0081 U.C. the RX-81 was assigned to the Earth Federation's Phantom Sweep Team to take down the remaining Zeon Remnant soldiers the [[Invisible Knights]].

Template:Infobox/Mobile Weapon Ver.2The RX-81 G-Line is a mobile suit that appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam Battlefield Record UC 0081.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

As the mass-produced GM series placed priority on productivity, its specifications are considerably lowered from those of the RX-78-2 Gundam. The RX-81's plan retains the specifications of the Gundam while increasing the mobile suit's variety of weapons and armor by incorporating the FSWS, and as a result, it has several forms it can change into. Backpacks can be replaced according to the situation, with two thrusters on the ground and six for space.

Armaments

  • Vulcan Gun
Mounted in the head, the pair of shell firing weapons have high rate of fire but little power and can't damage the armor of a mobile suit, though they can damage lightly armored areas such as the sensors. They are ideal for shooting down small, lightly armored targets such as missiles, attack vehicles, etc.
  • Beam Saber
The standard close range armament for most Federation mobile suits, it is a small device held in the mobile suit's hands when operated and is powered by a rechargeable energy capacitor. The beam saber emits a blade of plasma contained by an I-Field and can cut through most armor not treated with anti-beam coating. The RX-81 has two beam sabers stored on its backpack.
  • Short Beam Rifle
  • Shield
Basic defensive equipment, the G-Line's shield is a simple defense used to block physical and beam attacks. The shield also has spikes on the lower edge, which can be used in close combat.

History

The RX-81 development program was temporarily frozen during the One Year War to prioritize production of the GM. The program was resumed in U.C. 0081 after the turmoil of the postwar period had subsided and a limited number of RX-81 were made due to their high cost. The Earth Federation's Phantom Sweep Team that was tasked with taking down the Zeon remnant group, the Invisible Knights, was one of those given the RX-81.
