Disambiguation:

The RX-78F00 Gundam (RX-78F00 ガンダム Āru Ekkusu Nanahachi Effu Zero Zero Gandamu?), also dubbed the Yokohama Gundam, was a real, mobile statue that stood attached to a Gundam Dock (G-Dock) at the Gundam Factory Yokohama. Its construction was the subject of the documentary It Moves? Gundam, Follow Your Dreams! [1].

History[]

The project, titled "Gundam Global Challenge", opened in 2014, with the aim of creating a 18m tall moving RX-78-2 Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam for Gundam's 40th anniversary celebration in 2019 [2][3].

The attraction officially opened on December 19, 2020, but closed on April 1, 2024, followed by a memorial video commemorating its existence with one final show. Parts of the Gundam will be reused for a new statue in front of the Gundam Next Future Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka from April 13 to October 13, 2025.[4]
