The RGM-86RN GM III Euryale (ジムIIIエウリュアレ Jimu III Euryuare^?) is a variant of RGM-86R GM III that appears in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam F90: Fastest Formula.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The GM III Euryale is a heavily modified GM III equipped with the backpack and wired bit equipment developed from Murasame Research Institute's MRX-002. The addition of the bit equipment dramatically increased the weight, decreasing its speed and mobility.^[1] While its not designed to fight miniaturized mobile suit, it was good enough to perform on par with something like the RGM-89J Jegan Type J and GM III.^[1]

Armaments[]

60mm Vulcan Gun: A pair of shell-firing weapon built into the head. Though not powerful, its high rate of fire meant it was used to intercept enemy missiles/units, as warning shots, and to destroy lightly armored targets.

Wired Bit: The GM III Euryale equipped ten wire-guided bits all over its body. They are the same style and configuration as the Newtype Use Prototype Gundam's bits, mounted on the forearms, shoulders, legs, and backpack. The wired bits on forearms were capable of generate beam blades while still attached, though this was only for emergency close range attack.

Psycommu System: The Psycommu allows the pilot to mentally control the GM III Euryale's wired bits via brainwaves.

History[]

In U.C 115, a GBG squad comprised of the GM III Euryale, RGM-86R-FA Full Armor GM III, and the RGM-79SC GM Sniper Custom was sent to eliminate a terrorist group in Side 6 Shoal Zone. The GBG squad eliminated the terrorist group with ease, but soon discovered this was a trap set up by the Zeon remnant group "Legacy", who then attacked the squad with a dozen OMS-1004 Tigris IIs.^[2] A fierce battle erupted, with both sides suffering heavy losses, and this unit was destroyed when Matrika used her GM III as shield to save GM Sniper Custom.^[3]
