The RGM-79CA GM Raid Light is a mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Blazing Shadow light novel.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The GM Raid Light is a variant of the RGM-79CA GM Raid that features lighter armor, reducing the mobile suit's weight. Whereas the original GM Raid was developed specifically for the Shadows unit, the GM Raid Light is used by the standard Earth Federation Forces. Other than the lighter armor and different coloration, the GM Raid Light is identical to its predecessor and is equipped with the same armaments
Armaments[]
- 60mm Vulcan Gun
- A standard armament of the Earth Federation Forces's MS is a pair of head-mounted 60mm vulcan guns. These shell firing weapons have a high rate of fire but little power, and can't damage the thick armor of a MS. However, they can damage lightly armored areas such as the sensors and are ideal for shooting down small, lightly armored targets such as missiles, attack vehicles, etc.
- Beam Saber
- A handheld close combat beam weapon, it is a small cylindrical device that houses a rechargeable energy capacitor like that of a beam rifle, and the stored Minovsky particles are released to form a lethal energy blade. The beam saber is capable of cutting through any armor not treated with anti-beam coating.
- 3-tube Missile Pod
- A 3-tube missile pod is mounted on the side of each leg.
- AE/ZIM.HD Type-2 Heat Dagger
- The GM Raid Light carries a pair of large heat daggers stored in sheathes on its waist. The dagger's heated blade can melt the enemy's armor on contact. This weapon was created by combining Zeon and Earth Federation technology.
- AE/ZIM.C-Main-0011-F Chain Mine
- The AE/ZIM.C-Main-0011-F chain mine consists of 10 disc-shaped mines connected to each other by a flexible cable. Each mine had magnetic claws on its underside, allowing it to be attached to objects. The chain mine could be thrown, laid on the ground, or fixed to a building as a mine, or attached to a single enemy and detonated. While it is composed of fewer mines than the chain mines used by the Principality of Zeon, they have been improved. A chain mine is stored on each side of the backpack.
- Franz EF-ASH114T Assault Shotgun
- A handheld shell firing weapon meant for use against high-speed target. The weapon features a drum magazine that is easily replaceable and it has a high rate of fire equivalent to that of a machine gun. A spare magazine can be stored on the side pf the waist in place of one of the heat daggers.
- Spike Shield
- The GM Raid Light uses the same shield RGM-79FP GM Striker. This defensive armament can also be used as a striking weapon thanks to the two pile bunkers mounted at the tip.

- The Franz EF-ASH114T Assault Shotgun is based off the real life United States' Atchisson AA-12 Shotgun with a drum magazine.
