The RGE-B790 Genoace is the main mobile suit of the Earth Federation Forces in the Flit Arc of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. Its pilots include Largan Drace and Flit Asuno.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
The Genoace is a mass-production mobile suit of the Earth Federation Forces. It is a highly versatile machine and characterized by a clear blue visor covering the front of the head and internal sensors.[1] It was rolled out at the same time as the Earth Federation Forces begin to battle the UE, and a wide variety of customized units exist.[2] The Genoace's frame is based on the Desperado's.[3] The Genoace was said to have the highest performance among the mobile suits created after the Silver Chalice Treaty, in which weapons were discarded and technology was sealed. However, it was no match for the UE's mobile suits, which used the sealed technologies.
More than a decade after its introduction, the Genoace finally became a threat to the UE's mobile suits, thanks to the creation and adoption of the DODS Gun. There is also a particular Genoace piloted by Largan Drace that is refitted by Vargas Dyson with double layer armor, one more then the normal unit. While the external appearance of this modified unit is unchanged, it seems to be able to endure more beating from UE's mobile suits than the normal unit.
Armaments[]
- Beam Spray Gun
- The Genoace's primary armament, it fires a blast of charged particles. Despite being a beam weapon, the Beam Spray Gun is not powerful enough to damage the armor of Vagan mobile suits. The shots of the Beam Spray Gun are about as powerful as a tank shell.[4]
- Shield
- The Genoace's defensive armament, it is mounted on the left forearm.
- Heat Stick
- The Genoace's close-combat armament, it is stored in the Shield. Like the Beam Spray Gun, the Heat Stick has little to no effect against any Vagan mobile suits. The length of the Heat Stick is about that of the forearm and the end is sharpened into a point, making it most effective as a stabbing weapon.[5]
- DODS Gun
- A mass produced beam weapon of the Gundam AGE-1's DODS Rifle. Although not as powerful as the DODS Rifle, it still has enough power to take down most Vagan mobile suits in one shot.[5][6]
History[]
The Genoace was developed and mass-produced in response to the attacks by the UE that first occurred in A.G. 101. Unfortunately, for more than a decade after its introduction, the Genoace was no match for the UE's mobile suits. This finally changed in A.G. 115, when the DODS Gun was created and adopted as part of the Genoace's armament, allowing it to fight more evenly against the UE.
By A.G. 123, the Genoace was regarded as an antiquated machine, but it was still favored by many pilots and continued to be deployed in combat, such as protecting the Toludin Base. However, as its successor, the RGE-B890 Genoace II, became more widespread, the Genoace began to disappear, and by A.G. 140, it had been completely retired.
Variants[]
- RGE-B790CF Genoace Fox Custom
- Kotetsu Genoace
- RGE-B790CW Genoace Custom
- RGE-B791 Genoace Type 791
- Appearing in the novelization, it is also referred to as "Home Capital Type." It is armed with a pair of head-mounted 60mm vulcans and a beam Gatling gun. It can be configured to function as a Cannon or Sniper type.[6]
- RGE-B790A Genoace Assault
- A modified Genoace equipped with a Gundam-class chestplate. It carries an experimental beam dagger similar to the one used by the G-Exes, and was effective against the ovv-a Baqto. It had a limited operating time due to reduced propellant.[6]
- RGE-B791C Genoace Cannon
- A heavy artillery variant that appears in the novelization. It is armed with a back-mounted 30-cm rail cannon and deployed at Arinston base. It is later equipped with armor-piercing ammunition. It is operated by the 8th Space Fleet and used in the operation to capture Ambat.[6]
- RGE-B790 Genoace Commander Type
- A commander-type Genoace painted in moss green colors. It was armed with a trial beam dagger developed for the Gundam AGE-1. It was operated by lieutenant Kleine.[5][6]

Notes & Trivia[]
- Though never shown in the anime, the HGAGE 1/144 Genoace comes with a beam saber blade that can be used in place of the Heat Stick's point.
- The Genoace's role in the Earth Federation Forces is very similar to that of the RGM-79 GM in the Universal Century timeline.
- This is also reflected in the model number, which may be a reference to the GM.
