The Psycomet Mu-szell is a system that appears in the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.

Overview

It is a special device with adjustable output built into the helmets of Vagan's pilot suits that simulates the abilities of an X-Rounder, and by stimulating the X-region in the brain, even an ordinary person can exhibit the same abilities as an X-Rounder. It was created as a result of X-Rounder research, but because it is a rather unstable system, it can overload the brain, and excessive use can result in the death of the pilot. For this reason, even within Vagan, there are many who question the use of this system.

In the novelization, it seems that the helmet and the control system installed in the MS are supposed to be used as a set. It also seems to have the side effect of making pilots lose their rationality, which may be the cause of atrocities such as mercilessly burning even civilians (even if Vagans have the philosophy of “killing every single Earth species”).

History

First Generation

It is installed on the Defurse piloted by Geera Zoi, and is activated during the battle with Flit Asuno's Gundam AGE-1 during the Battle of Ambat.

Second Generation

It is installed as standard equipment on many Vagan MS, including the mass-produced Dorado. When Flit defeats a Dorado, he retrieves the head, which is the cockpit, and while analyzing it, Asemu Asuno takes it without permission and uses it. This results in the defeat and overpowering of the Zedas M units piloted by Leo Louis and Mink Leiden of the Magicians 8, respectively, but Asemu, unable to withstand the load from the Mu-szell, becomes confused and loses consciousness.
