Project Zeta (aka Z Plan) was the name of a joint mobile suit (MS) development program ran by Anaheim Electronics and AEUG. Details of the project are purposefully kept secret by Anaheim in the interest of Earth Federation Forces not learning they are supplying both sides of the Gryps Conflict, with its main goal being either said to be the development of next generation mobile suits, or to develop mainstay mobile suits for AEUG.

Overview[]

This initiative originally started with the goal of creating the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, but it continued after spawning many influential mobile suit designs afterward. According to some sources, most of the Greek code Gundam prototypes made by Anaheim at this time can be traced to Project Zeta. These Gundams and subsequent Gundams created by Anaheim were later collectively known as "Anaheim Gundam". it was a revolution of design; new materials, like Gundarium γ, was made as were transformable (variable) mobile suits. After the creation of the MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam Anaheim would refocus efforts taking data obtained from mobile suits developed as part of Project Zeta and create mobile suits in the development of the RX-93 ν Gundam.[1] It is unclear exactly when Project Zeta ended as the development of variants from the Project continued well into the 0100s. It wasn't displaced until the Silhouette Formula Project became Anaheim's focus in the 0120s once Strategic Naval Research Institute became the main manufacturer of Federation mobile suits.
