Plazma is a song by Kenshi Yonezu, and is the theme song to Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, and the opening song of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series.

Themes[]

According to a short article about the making of the music video for the original song, Yonezu and Yanagisawa Sho, the director of the video, define the main theme of the song as "the initial impulse during a girl's first encounter with 'something' that she will pursue with passion for the rest of her life." It was also specifically stated that the music video does not contain any spoilers for the said Gundam show or the theatrical version of its first 3-4 episodes.[1]

  • At 1:03 in the opening, the gMS-α Red Gundam's movements are a direct reference to those of Gundam Mk-II in the openings of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. In all of them, the Gundam's shield on the left arm is destroyed by missiles, following which it emerges from the smoke and debris using that arm, ignites a beam saber, and flies away.
  • The CD release - Installer Device version has an Anaheim Electronics logo included.
