Petra Itta (ペトラ・イッタ Petora Itta?), is a character in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. She is a second-year student in the mechanical department at Asticassia School of Technology, who belongs to Jeturk House.[3]
Personality & Character[]
Petra initially acts contemptuous and hostile towards students from the other houses. Along with the other Jeturk students, she enables the bullying behavior of classmates like Guel and is confrontational with students she views as lesser.[4][5] She also indulges in following school gossip. Her loyalty to her Jeturk friends causes her to overlook or excuse some of their own negative traits.
Despite her caustic behavior to others, Petra cares for her friends and fellow house students and is dedicated to assisting them. She is very supportive of Lauda, as she takes on secretary duties for him in addition to her normal school work.[2] She can act compassionate to people outside of her social circle, and she gradually tries to make amends with people she had previously bullied. In serious situations, she is even willing to risk her life to save and rescue others despite her personal grudges.[6]
While initially hostile to Suletta Mercury, Petra slowly warms up to her after she fought to save the students on campus, and she even begins helping her upon noticing her depressive state from recent events.[6]

A.S. 122[]
Petra, alongside Felsi, was present during Suletta Mercury's first introduction to her classmates at Asticassia School of Technology, teasing Miorine Rembran for her attempted escape to Earth. It was at that time that the duel between Guel Jeturk and Parker Eastcott spilled into the training area. During this encounter they cheered on their uperclassman at Jeturk House.[7]
Following the duel, Petra accompanied Guel to Miorine's abode while he harassed her and destroyed her planters out of rage. Amused, she and Felsi simply laughed at the girl's predicament. When Suletta spanked Guel to stop him from menacing Miorine, she quickly hid behind Petra. Petra found herself amused at Suletta's characterisation of Guel, stifling a laugh to avoid angering him.
Petra talks with Guel about helping Lauda
Petra was severely injured during the Asticassia Massacre orchestrated by Shaddiq Zenelli who coordinated from Dawn of Fold and rendered comatose. She ultimately survived, though she lost both legs and received cybernetic replacements from GUND-ARM， Inc..

Petra often accompanied Lauda throughout the school, and she eventually pursued a close romantic relationship with him, much to Felsi's surprise.[8][6] Compared to how she acted towards other students, Petra was more gentle and caring towards Lauda, even making personal sacrifices to continue supporting him and the rest of the House.
After he was forced to serve as the acting Jeturk CEO on short notice, Petra worked as his secretary despite the intense strain on both of them, and she was very concerned for his health.[2] She was discomforted by Lauda mocking a depressed Suletta on their trip to thank Chuchu for saving his life, but she remained hesitant to correct him.[9] Despite getting annoyed that Lauda stood her up for a date, she clung to their relationship a motivation for her to survive during the Asticassia Massacre.[6]
