Please note that this is the Gundam Wiki's article on the mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt; if you are looking for the article on the gunpla from Plamo-Kyoshiro then you should head to PF-78-1 Perfect Gundam.

"Universal Century (Thunderbolt)" is not in the list (After Colony, Anno Domini, Advanced Generation, After War, Build Fighters, Correct Century, Cosmic Era, Future Century, Gunpla Builders, Mars Century, ...) of allowed values for the "Era" property.

The Perfect Gundam is a custom mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt manga. It is piloted by Daryl Lorenz.

Technology & Combat Characteristics[]

The Perfect Gundam is the result of retrofitting the ground-use Psycho Zaku Mk-II with the parts and armor of Io Fleming's damaged FA-78 Full Armor Gundam for operating in space.[1] As a result, the mobile suit now has greatly enhanced armor strength and thruster output. Since the Perfect Gundam retains the Psycho Zaku Mk-II's Reuse P (Psycho) Device", Daryl is able to operate the machine by communicating to the drive system directly via thoughts. Although its armaments are very simple, the Reuse P Device combined with the Gundam parts allows Daryl to outperform most Federation pilots. In addition, the MS has been repainted in tri-color scheme to resemble the RX-78-2 Gundam.

Armaments[]

  • Vulcan Gun
A pair of Vulcan Guns were added to the head to better mimic the RX-78-2 Gundam.
  • Beam Saber
A close combat weapon sourced from the Full Armor Gundam. Two are stored on the backpack when not in use.
  • Beam Rifle
A beam rifle acquired by Daryl in the Perfect Gundam during combat at Luna II. During Operation Maitreya, the Perfect Gundam is resupplied with two such rifles, which are attached onto its back when not in use.
  • Beam Spray Gun
A simplified version of the beam rifle, the beam spray gun was taken from a defeated RGM-79 GM before shortly being discarded.[2]
  • Bazooka
A large bazooka similar in appearance to the Giant Bazooka used by the MS-09R Rick Dom and the MS-10 Pezun Dowadge. It can be attached to the top of the Perfect Gundam's shoulder, as well as onto its back when not in use. During Operation Maitreya, the Perfect Gundam is resupplied with two such bazookas.
  • Shield
A defensive armament taken from a defeated GM.[2] During Operation Maitreya, the Perfect Gundam is resupplied with two shields used by the MS-14A Gelgoog that are attached to its arms and carry spare ammunition, as well as two Heat Hawks with each shield.

Special Equipment & Features[]

  • Reuse P (Psycho) Device
A next generation operating system that has the potential to operate a mobile suit like a pilot's arms and legs by communicating to the mobile suit's drive system directly via an electric signal transmitted from the pilot's brain. Even individuals with little piloting experience can master the controls of the Reuse P Device in a short period because on a base level, the pilot only need to thinks about movement.

History[]

After the failure of Operation Thunderbolt, Monica Humphrey conversed with Anaheim Electronics executive Andy Wellington, who expressed his desire to acquire the Reuse P Device technology and combine it with the RX-78-2 Gundam. Humphrey named this hypothetical mobile suit the "Perfect Gundam".[3]

Following Levan Fuu's plan to destroy Anaheim Electronics, Daryl Lorenz sought to infiltrate Luna II after sensing a presence calling out to him from the base thanks to his newly-awakened Newtype abilities. To accomplish this, he recovered the remains of the FA-78 Full Armor Gundam, which was recovered by the Siren Mobile Fleet following his battle with Io Fleming.[4] The armor parts were then retrofitted onto the Psycho Zaku Mk-II, making it resemble a Gundam. Using recovered Federation uniforms and fake credentials, Daryl's group managed to sneak into Luna II, where they commandeered a captured MAN-03 Braw Bro.

Connected with the Braw Bro, the Perfect Gundam joined the South Seas Alliance forces during Operation Maitreya, a plan to seize control of the Solar Ray. Daryl engaged in a fierce battle across Konpei Island against the MSN-02 Perfect Zeong piloted by Io Fleming and the artificially enhanced Newtype Lily Shellina. After a premature firing of the Solar Ray, Daryl left the damaged Braw Bro behind and continued fighting the Federation forces in the resupplied Perfect Gundam. During the battle, the mobile suit’s left arm was blown off by a damaged RX-75 Guntank piloted by Captain Creed.

As the Perfect Gundam chased the Perfect Zeong in order to stop it from reaching the Solar Ray, it destroyed the Zeong’s body with its beam rifle, to which the Zeong detached its head and destroyed the Perfect Gundam’s head with its mouth’s mega particle cannon. Continuing the chase inside, the Zeong’s head fired at the core in order to destroy the Solar Ray, while the Gundam fired one last shot at the time. Their beam fire was thrown off by lightning generated by the core, which also caught the Perfect Gundam and the Zeong’s head. Heavily damaged, the Perfect Gundam drifted off until it reached the Alliance’s MA-08 Big Zam, where Daryl abandoned it and switched to a MS-05 Zaku I.
