PFF-X7II/BUILD DiVERS Re:Rising Gundam

Template:Infobox/Mobile Weapon Ver.2The PFF-X7II/BUILD DiVERS Re:Rising Gundam (リライジングガンダム, Re:Rising Gundam^?) is a Gunpla appearing in and is the titular machine of Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE. It is formed through the combination of the BUILD DiVERS' Gunpla and is piloted by Hiroto Kuga.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The PLANETS System was invented by Hiroto and used the PFF-X7 Core Gundam as its foundation. The Re:Rising Gundam can be said to be the ultimate form created through the system, it is a combination of the PFF-X7II Core Gundam II with the JMA0530-MAYBD Wodom Pod + and parts from the Ex Valkylander and GAT-X303K Gundam Aegis Knight. This huge unit was created with the goal of releasing maximum firepower and obtained the powerful finisher "Grand Cross Cannon" that unleashes the Gunpla's energy. When using this finisher, the Re:Rising Gundam's whole body changes to a dazzling golden color.

The massive beam blades generated from both of the forearms have overwhelming destructive power that can slice through countless enemy units and chop huge battleships in half.

• Grand Cross Cannon

This super strategic finisher is performed by concentrating the energy of the Re:Rising Gundam, which consist of the Core Gundam II, Gundam Aegis Knight, Ex Valkylander, and Wodom Pod +, to a single point and releasing it as a powerful beam. This became the BUILD DiVERS' largest secret weapon in their battle against Alus on Eldora. Due to the torrent of energy around each part of the Gunpla when using this move, its body changes to a golden color, which is also known as "Grand Cross Color".

History

The idea for the Re:Rising Gundam being a combination of the BUILD DiVERS' Gunpla was thought up by Kazami. It was implied that the Re:Rising Gundam debuted at the Lotus Challenge ver. Eldora, where it used the newly gained Grand Cross Cannon to destroy the Lotus Fortress's core unit.

Notes & Trivia

• Some fans have interpreted the Gunpla that make up the Re:Rising Gundam as being a nod to the Four Symbols from East Asian cultures, with the Core Gundam II being the Azure Dragon, the Aegis Knight the White Tiger, the Ex Valkylander the Vermillion Bird, the Wodom Pod + the Black Tortoise, and the Re:Rising Gundam itself is the Fifth Symbol, the Yellow dragon. This can be seen with the Gundam's v-fin and wings resembling those of a dragon and that it changes to a golden color when it uses the "Grand Cross Cannon".
  • Its name Re:Rising, and it being a representation of the sun as shown at the end of the docking sequence, could imply that the Gunpla's name may mean the sun rising again on a new day. The Yellow Dragon represents the changing of seasons with both representations being endless cycles.
• Re:Rising Gundam can also be interpreted as Qilin, the other leader of the Four Symbols. There are usually a less commonly known Fifth Symbol position reserved for the Leader. The Yellow Dragon was the leader before the Four Symbols allegedly fell to the dark side and caused untold sufferings. They were later defeated and subdued by the Four Sacred Spirits, two of which left existence to patch the Universe, two remained behind to erase the possibility of the Four Symbols falling to the dark side from existence. One of them is Bai Ze and the other is Qilin. It is said that when Qilin don the identity of Fifth Symbol, it will appear with features of all Four Symbols. The Re:Rising Gundam being created from parts of the four protagonists' Gunpla is a nod to this feature.
• The Re:Rising Gundam was foreshadowed from episode 14 onwards in the second opening, which hid a carving of it behind the show title.
