"Combat" is not in the list (Assault, Heavy Assault, Defense, Multi-Mode, Close Quarters Combat, High Mobility, Artillery, Sniper, Reconnaissance, Support, ...) of allowed values for the "Usage" property. The Gomel is a ground combat Vagan mobile suit from the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. It is piloted by Vagan's Phantom 3 Team.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

Considered as Vagan's first Underground Mobile Suit, the Gomel is specially developed for use sandy terrain. The main purpose of the Gomel is to attack enemy units while being hidden in the sand and design in general is partly inspired from a shark hunting its prey, and is able to transform into its alternate mode to dive into the sand and move freely without problems. The Gomel is armed with two solid claws, which can take down enemy mobile suits and launch missiles to counter attacks and a beam cannon in the chest.

Armaments

  • Gomel Cannon
Mounted on the chest. It generates a very wide beam ideal for eliminating difficult enemies that stand before the Gomel.
  • Gomel Claws
The Gomel is armed with two solid claws which can strike down enemy mobile suits. Although it doesn't have a beam vulcan gun or a beam saber, it can launch missiles to take down enemies.

History

Only three Gomels were built by the Vagan during the final phase of Operation Eden. These specialized machines were assigned to the X-Rounder Corps Phantom 3 to take down the Diva-class cruiser on their way to the Federation Base of Rostroulan. One of them were destroyed by Kio Asuno and his AGE-3F Gundam AGE-3 Fortress.
