Ony Kasuga (オニー・カスガ Onī Kasuga?) is one of the character from Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.[1]
Background Information[]
Dr Ony Kasuga belongs to UMRC, an organization which provides medical care without discrimination based on faction. During Zeon's re-capture operation of the EFF's Cluj-Napoca military base on November 6, UC 0079, Dr Kasuga was one of medical doctors dispatched by UMRC to treat injured soldiers and personnel during and after the conflict. As the EFF mounted a surprise raid against the Stein Battalion in the early morning of November 7, UC 0079, Dr Kasuga was caught up in the thick of EFF's attack and ended up working with Red Wolves' captain Iria Solari and the others.[4]

Kind, gentle and with a brave heart, Dr Kasuga determines to save as many lives on the battlefield as possible, regardless of who they are. As a pacifist, he believes everyone should live peacefully without conflict, as he witnesses first hand the tremendous damage and loss of lives throughout the One Year War.
Skills & Abilities[]
Dr Kasuga has shown great skills in providing on-field medical care to wounded combatants, from tending Ander Heaton's head wounds[1] to urgently operates on the unconscious Solari after the failed GM-jack mission.[5] Beyond the field of medicine, however, Kasuga's lack of technical ability and knowhow is apparent when Heaton asked him to maneuver the crane which holds the Zaku torso, and the doctor was dumbfound at the array of buttons and levers as he claimed he needed a manual to use them.[3]

On November 6, U.C. 0079, Zeon's Stein Battalion initiated the re-capture of EFF's Cluj-Napoca military base in Northwestern Romania. As a member of the humanitarian organization UMRC, Dr Ony Kasuga was dispatched as part of the medical team to provide combat medical care to wounded soldiers after the base fell in to Zeon's control. Dr Kasuga treated 2nd. Lt. Ander Heaton for his head wounds and concussion, and later he treated another Zeon soldier for the similar injury while Maj. Joshua Stein delivered his victory speech to his Battalion members. On the early morning of November 7, U.C. 0079, the EFF mounted a surprised raid at the Cluj-Napoca base. Spearheaded by RX-78(G)E Gundam EX, the EFF inflicted heavy losses to the stationed Zeon Forces including the annihilation of Red Wolf Squadron's mobile suits. Dr Kasuga met Cpt. Iria Solari when the latter tried to open the cockpit hatch of his squad mate Kneeland LeSean's Zaku II, and with the doctor's assistance LeSean moved out of his damaged mobile suit without injuries. As the EFF attack became more intense, Dr Kasuga joined Solari and her company to escape the base before they would be wiped out by RX-78(G)E Gundam EX and M61A5 MBTs.
Despite continuous interference by Gundam EX, the escaping convoy was able to head to the Romanian Mixed Mobile Brigade Headquarter, the home base of Solari and the Red Wolves. They came too late as the HQ were destroyed by EFF and Gundam EX's attack moments earlier. Kasuga was shocked to see the damage from the destruction and tried to find some facilities to rescue an injured soldier at the HQ who survived the attack, but Solari told him there wouldn't be any as the destruction was complete and they must carry the wounded and move on. On Heaton's suggestion the convoy travelled to the nearby Zeon's recycling centre for refuge. Despite initial refusal from the centre's commander Maj. Rolph Ronet of Brigade Support Command, the convoy was allowed to stay though the intervention of the resident mechanic Tech. Capt. Alfee Zydos (Gearhead). As the EFF mounted a surprised raid at the recycling centre a few days later, the Red Wolf duo of Solari and LeSean put the newly-built Zakus from the centre in action against the intruding Gundam EX and RGM-79 GM, Heaton asked Dr Kasuga to help him to move a cannon-equipped Zaku torso so he could attack and distract the EFF mobile suits. The doctor didn't know how to operate the crane and was replaced by Maj. Ronet to assist Heaton in attacking the EFFs. Despite Solari and co.'s effort, the recycling centre sustained significant damage and loss of lives, including the annihilation of First Armored Infantry Company, leaving 2nd Lt. Hailey Arhun its sole survivor. Dr Kasuga consoled the shocked lieutenant who questioned his motive to treat Federation soldiers as they will return to kill the Zeons. The doctor replied he save anyone including Arhun, and hoped she will find peace after seeing what the war had taken away from everyone.
Under the order of Maj. Gen. Yuri Kellerne, Solari, along with Heaton, Arhun and Zydos, infiltrated the EFF's military base near The Olt to hijack two GMs for Zeon's technical examinations. The mission ended in failure as Solari suffered serious injuries who barely escaped from the base and fell into a nearby stream. Zydos and co. managed to locate the unconscious Solari and brought her to a Zebu truck from Maj. Ronet's convoy to be resuscitated by Dr Kasuga, who was able to being the Red Wolf captain back to life.[5] As the EFF attacked the escaping convoy which was heading towards the Odessa space port, Dr Kasuga told Solari not to risk her life as the latter volunteered to stay behind the besieged city to protect the convoy. The doctor reminded Solari not to get injured again before the Captain bidded farewell to everyone. When the convoy finally reached the HLV launch sites, Dr Kasuga said goodbye to Heaton, Arhun and Zydos before he continued his rescue work at Odessa.[5]
