The One Week Battle (一週間戦争?) refers to conflicts featured in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin that took place during the opening stages of the One Year War.
Chronology[]
Declaration of War[]
On January 3, the Principality of Zeon declared war against the Earth Federation. On that day, the Dozle fleet, consisting of Musai-class Early Production Type light cruisers, destroyed the E.F.S.F. cruiser fleet, consisting of Salamis-class [1].
Siege of Granada and Von Braun[]
On the same day [2], Major General Kycilia Zabi's Chivvay-class deployed her assault forces' MS-04 Zaku I units to occupy Granada and then her main force of Musai-class Early Production Type light cruisers attacked Federation Salamis-class and Magellan-class vessels above Von Braun [3][1].
Above the moon, a Magellan-class was destroyed. The MS-05S Char's Zaku I fired its machine gun as three standard Zaku I units departed from a Musai-class. Char's Zaku I left a red trail as it passed a wrecked Magellan-class [1].
Operation British[]
Also on the same day [3], talks had broken down over the Zeon government's refusal to apologize for the recent battle on the lunar surface. As a result, all Sides were being forced to take measures. Side 2, Hatte, had sided with the Federation, taking an openly antagonistic stance against Zeon [1].
An operation using the undamaged capital banchi had been devised by Supreme Commander Gihren Zabi, and was carried out under the supervision of Vice Admiral Dozle Zabi. Its name was "Operation British." This would later be known as the colony drop. GG gas infusion vessels were used to pump GG gas into Island Iffish and wipe out its inhabitants [4].
