The ORX-009 Gundam ［Sköll］ is a mobile suit from the Advance of Zeta The Traitor to Destiny: Blue Wings of the AEUG light novel series. It is piloted by Ernest McGuire.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The ORX-009 Gundam ［Sköll］is a transformable mobile suit developed at the Oakland Newtype Research Institute as a companion for the ORX-007 ［Hati］. Like the MSW-004 Gundam ［Kestrel］, the Sköll is equipped with the Shaman Frame. However, in order for the Shaman Frame to operate at its full specification, a reciprocal link with the Hati is need in order to use it. This link is performed via psycommu communication, and the Sköll must remain within 10,000 meters of the Hati to maintain the link. The MA made was designed to keep the Sköll within this range, and is not capable of entering the atmosphere. When it was deployed exterior of the mobile suit was unfinished, with portions of the armor constructed of nanocarbon steel treated with anti-beam coating. While nanocarbon steel is lightweight, it can be damaged by physical ammunition.

Armaments

• Beam Rifle

A beam rifle is mounted on each shoulder.

• Beam Saber

Two beam sabers are mounted on each side skirt armor, for a total of four. While attached, the beam sabers can function as beam guns in MA mode.

• Mega Particle Cannon

The Sköll's most powerful armament is a handheld mega particle cannon.

• Shield

The Sköll carries a specially designed shield that is equipped with a large number of defensive missiles to serve the mobile suit's role as an escort to the Hati.

• Missiles

Short-range rockets which deploy a beam-disrupting curtain to impair enemy beam weapons.

History

The Sköll is developed in Oakland Newtype Research Institute as an experimental mobile suit capable of working in tandem with the ORX-007 ［Hati］ using an experimental psycho wave device. It is deployed during the Titans' last battle in the Gryps Conflict and engaged in a heated battle against the MSW-004 Gundam [Kestrel].

Notes

• It is named after Sköll, brother of Hati Hróðvitnisson, a wolf in Norse mythology who will devour the Sun during Ragnarök.
