Nick Orville (ニック・オービル?) is a character from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.

History[]

Nick Orville was an employee of Anaheim Electronics who was chosen to help maintain the RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis" upon its delivery to Torrington Base. In actuality however, he was a Zeon spy sent to infiltrate the Federation via Anaheim as a part of Operation Stardust. Through his connections, he is able to contact Zeon forces lying in wait and let them know of its arrival. Under the cover of wanting to spend time enjoying Earth's natural beauty, Orville secretly rendezvous with Anavel Gato, giving him a Federation lieutenant's uniform and sneaking him inside Torrington Base. It was thanks to Orville that Gato was able to steal the GP02.

He continues to work as an informant, but is discovered to be a spy when South Burning picks up one of the classified documents that he forgot to pick up when he bumped into Chuck Keith in the Albion's corridor. He steals a spare Core Fighter II and escapes from Albion, but this was a plan by Eyphar Sinapus to grasp the location of the enemy base. He attempts to flee to the Kimberlite base, but is shot down by a Zaku under orders from Neuen Bitter, who fears that the base's location will be discovered. He succeeds in escaping by parachute, but does not appear again.

In the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Rebellion", Alice Miller detects that he is a Delaz Fleet spy, and he is tortured inside Albion, leaking information about the Kimberlite base. Later, while traveling in a convoy, the convoy is attacked by diamond smugglers who are Zeon's business partners, and he himself is shot dead. However, before disembarking from Albion, he sabotaged the mega particle cannon and played a role in preventing the HLV attack.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • In the mobile game "Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. ENGAGE", Nick is depicted as one of the Zeon engineers working on the RX-78MS00Z "Engage Zero", alongside Lucette Audevie. He comments to Peche Montagne that the Engage Zero is triumph as a Gundam that Zeons have built, and she just has to breathe life into it. When Lucette in turn describes it as a symbol of peace made by Federation and Zeon personnel working together, Nick doesn't seem so sure. And when orders come down to test the machine on the front lines against a Zeon rebel cell, he has misgivings, surmising it as the Federation testing their loyalty.
