Nadim Samaya (ナディム・サマヤ Nadimu Samaya?) is a character from Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE. He was the Gundam Lfrith's development manager and father of the Samaya family [2]. During the Vanadis Incident he piloted XGF-01 Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model LF-01 [1].

History[]

He had been temporarily transferred to the Vanadis Institute from the mobile suit development company Ochs Earth [2].

Vanadis Incident[]

He was watching a news story by the Interplanetary News Network about the ethical concerns of mobile suits manufactured by Ochs Earth. Both their accountability and that of the Mobile Suit Development Council had been called into question. With their products facing much criticism, he turned off the broadcast just before his wife Elnora Samaya and daughter Eri returned home to celebrate Eri's fourth birthday—Eri had helped to decorate. While Eri went and got her birthday hat, he inferred Elnora failed to call layer 33 again and blamed the higher-ups for being in a rush to roll out the XGF-02 Gundam Lfrith (LF-03).

The party was interrupted as he had to take a call from Yamaoka, upsetting Eri. Yamaoka informed him of the council meeting before the deadline; it was the doing of Delling, an ex-military member. While Nadim was busy with this video call, his daughter went to the laboratory where LF-03 was. Once Dominicus deployed , he was suddenly cut off from his video call with Yamaoka, and then discovered that his wife and daughter were not home [1].

As the alarm rang, he met with his wife and told her that the council had crossed the line, urging her to find their daughter while he went out in the Lfrith. Manager Nadim Samaya launched in Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model LF-01. At Permet score two, he dodged all beams fired from the Heingras. He then launched GUND-BITs at a Heingra, moving to Permet score three, destroying the suit and its pilot. Thus, the remaining Heingra pilots were ordered not to engage one-on-one due to these "unfamiliar swarm weapons". He would be briefly joined in battle by Wendy Olent, piloting the other Lfrith Pre-Production Model, but she was defeated by Kenanji Avery's CEK-040 Beguir-Beu [1].

With Wendy killed in action, the Beguir-Beu chased Nadim's remaining Gundam around the asteroid. His wife later deployed in Gundam Lfrith LF-03, carrying their daughter with her in the cockpit [1].

The Beguir-Beu faced Elnora's Lfrith head-on with its bayonet's Sword Units. Kenanji deployed his Non-Kinetic Pods to disable it, but one was destroyed when Nadim entered firing Beam Vulcans. Nadim rammed his Gundam into the Beguir-Beu. Holding onto the Beguir-Beu, Nadim told Elnora to escape and live on with Ericht. Elnora declared her love for Nadim and complied with his request to flee as the Ulysses fired beams at them. Nadim reciprocated and levels up to Permet score four. Rapidly breathing, he whited out and reminisced about the birthday party earlier. Still holding the Beguir-Beu, he sung Happy Birthday to Ericht until his last breath. The Beguir-Beu pushed away the motionless Lfrith Pre-Production Model and retreated. His daughter finished the song alone as his Gundam exploded [1].

He appeared once again as a soul when X-EX01 Gundam Calibarn reached beyond Permet Score 8, along with Wendy Olen, Dr. Cardo Nabo, and the others.
