The Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Final Type (モビルワーカー MW-01 01式 最後期型,Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Final Type?) is a mobile weapon that appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga and its OVA adaptation.
On the dark side of space colony Side 3, the last improved and developed Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Final Type, a prototype experimental man-made mobile weapon led by Dozle Zabi was under development. Improvements have been made to each part based on the data from the Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Late Type, and opinions from the test pilots. Improvements were made on the chest armor around the cockpit to protect the pilot from incoming attacks [1].
The space specification is equipped with thrusters and verniers for attitude control in outer space on the shoulders, back, torso and legs, and was used by the Autonomous Republic of Zeon in the recovery of space debris in its neighboring zones. Its attitude control technology and operational data in space where used as reference in the development of mobile suits [2].
History[]
In U.C. 0074, Gihren Zabi saw the MW-01 Model 01 Final Type while inspecting the Dark Colony. Despite Dozle stating that the arms were "really mobile", Gihren was unsatisfied with its design, and he decided to cancel the MS Plan, believing that it would never become an effective weapon. However, Dr. T.Y Minovsky intervened, presenting blueprints of the MI-11 and a CG model of the YMS-03 Waff. Thus, Gihren rescinded the order (on the condition they can get the next model ready within 1 year) [3][4].

Notes & Trivia[]
It was never named in the manga. The "MS-02" designation was given in the Mobile Suit Illustrated 2006 book [5]. With the release of Dawn of Rebellion in 2016, the official Japanese website designated it as "モビルワーカー MW-01 01式 最後期型" [1], following the convention set by its predecessor, this can be translated as "Mobile Worker MW-01 Model 01 Final Type".
