Mobile Suit Gundam Vs. Gundam is an arcade game developed by Capcom and published by Bandai Namco Games, released on March 2008. Unlike the previous games, Gundam Vs Gundam crosses over multiple Gundam series rather than focusing on one source material. It was later followed up with a portable update on the Playstation Portable, which added an extra playable unit: GN-001 Gundam Exia.
Gameplay[]
Gundam Vs Gundam follows a gameplay engine similar to the SEED Vs. games. However, blocking cannot be done manually and shields simply automatically block any attacks, similar to the UC games, although they will be destroyed if they absorb too much damage. New to the game is the Mobile Assist which allows the user to summon an additional unit to briefly provide support. The Mobile Assist varies between units, usually tied to relationships with other pilots from the same series. Another gameplay mechanic is the G-Crossover, which allows the user to summon a much larger unit to sweep the entire battlefield with devastating firepower and explosions. These can range from colony drops to Mobile Armors. Because of the game's more arcade-like feel as opposed to the original games, units are allowed to access their entire arsenal or in the case of the Strike, able to switch out its packs rather than sortie with just one at a time.
