Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS Urdr-Hunt (機動戦士ガンダム 鉄血のオルフェンズ ウルズハント Kidō Senshi Gandamu Tekketsu no Orufenzu Uruzuhanto?) was a mobile game released on the Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS G app developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment as part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the Gundam franchise. The story takes place between the two seasons of Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS.[1]

On October 31, 2023 it was announced in a production letter by Yasunori Fujiwara that the Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS G app, as well as IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS Urdr-Hunt, would be ending service on January 11, 2024,[2] though it hinted at other upcoming news. On November 7th, it was revealed that an Urdr Hunt animation was in development.

Synopsis[]

It is the year P.D. 323. Gjallarhorn's political interference in Arbrau escalated into an armed conflict and came to an end thanks to Tekkadan.

News of Tekkadan's exploits has also reached the ears of Wistario Afam, a young man born and raised at the Radonitsa Colony near Venus. Venus, which lost to Mars in the initial contest for colony development, is a remote planet in which the four economic blocs have little interest. It is now used as a penal colony for criminals, whose inhabitants don't even have IDs.

Wistario, who hopes to change the status quo of his homeland, encounters a girl who claims to be the guide to the "Urdr-Hunt".

Production[]

During the production of the Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS anime, the concept of a mobile game was discussed. Bandai Namco approached producer Masakazu Ogawa to do a project together.[3] The main demographics of the anime were determined to be between the 10-20 year old range, and so it was decided that a mobile game would be produced.[3] Originally intended to tie into the anime's events, this was dropped, with director Tatsuyuki Nagai suggesting they tell a new story instead. Thus, the story of "Urdr-Hunt" was created.[3]
