I really hate to ask this of you, but I've hit a dead-end on my Gundlander project. I'm up to arc 3, and all I seem to be able to dig up is pictures of the characters; but no information on who they are, what they did, that sort of thing. Even searching by Japanese kanji doesn't seem to help me. Now I know you said you tried to read them, and more or less couldn't make heads or tails out of it. But it feels like the mangas are the only source of info that may be able to help. I also know that the series seem to go downhill at this point because of lack of popularity.
I realize you're busy with college, and you have you're own interests that you're working on. But right now, you have more information on Gundlander than I do. Do you think it's possible to help me out? I don't want to declare the project a failure due to lack of information. Even if you can point me to a website that has the info that I need, that would be helpful.
I can help then. I can't find the site where I read the manga, but I can probably find some information then. I know there was a Carddass series and that SD Gundam Ultimate Battle gives some of the story (I have two of the box sets).
I don't know how helpful this will be, but I found a collection of arc 3's cards here.
First off, thank you for the help that you've provided. Unfortunately, I an unable to actually read Japanese. But I do remember somewhere on the internet there was a way you can put in the kanji and then have it translated into English. I know this because I contacted someone and wrote what my request was; then I had it translated into Japanese, and the sentence was structured to the way the Japanese write with the sentence correctly structured. Unfortunately, I've forgotten the web adress to this site. I know it's not Google Translate, and part of the horrible translations is because of Google Translate.
Do you know where I can select the kanji as the text and then have it translated to near perfect English? Thank you in advance.
I've heard that Jisho is good, but you have to be able to switch to a Japanese keyboard on your computer. (They should be in the options menu) I'm not sure how good it is for looking up phases though. It's more or less a giant Japanese to English dictionary.
Accuraccy-wise, your best thing is to have human translator. I can work on this, since it's not as big as the Gaiden character lists (Which I'll be uploading in fragments to make my life easier..)
I saw how much you contributed to the SD Gundam Knight series, and I was impressed. Especially with how you got the images from the SD Gundam Gaiden Book. So thanks for that.
That being said, I wish to know more about the series of SD Gundam, and not just about the world of Lacroa. I could use information about Commando, Musha, and Gundlander. The last of the three especially since there's very little information about it.
Now I will admit I know no knowledge on reading Japanese (and the knowledge of speaking it is restricted to simple phrases), but I can try to identify the characters by matching names with pictures. The only problem with that is (sigh) copyright issues. It's a long story, so I'll just say that copyright and I do not get along, and I wish to avoid trouble. I also don't know if The Gundam Wiki can support all of this information; or if a separate wiki should be made specifically for SD Gundam.
Please tell me what you think. I would like to help out if possible.
Someone else uploaded the scans, I just translated them. (Although I own a copy of the books they were scanned from.) I only uploaded the scans for Last World.
I think it's a little easier to find information about Musha Gundam. I know someone who dumped a lot of info into the Wikipedia pages. It's basic, though, and they aren't updated as much as this Wiki's.
Overall, I'd be more than happy to help you learn more about SD Gundam. I'm not sure about making a seperate Wiki though. Seeing how detailed some of the articles on this Wiki are (the one for Amuro Ray, for example), it should be able to handle it. I just need to learn to summarize better, as shown by Devil Dragon Blade Zero Gundam's article.
Earlier you asked if you should add a Character page on Knights of the Round Table. I'm actually working on a character page myself, but I fear that I will be adding too many characters into the list. Of the ones that I'm considering not putting in are the common monsters that are encountered in the game. I can send you a list later tomorrow if you'd like (there's still some work in progress). I've even written some notes about said characters.
I also recently saw the anime for the third storyline (the one involving GP01 and Gunrex) It wasn't in subtitles, but some things I have figured out. GP02 for starters was possessed by a shield and became evil for example.
But you probably already know all of this. Still wish to help out somehow if you are interested.
(Funny enought, I was working on Seikihei Monogatari's summary yesterday. I saw that OVA as well.)
I'm interested in helping out, as I said. You can send me the character page if you want me to look it over. I have some of the Knight Gundam mangas, if that will help. I also plan on scanning the booklet for the last arc of Saddrac Knight Saga for the character files. I've been looking for high-quality scans for the other arcs. (I was able to translate a majority of Saddrac Knight Saga and EX, I'm in the process of doing so for New World Advent Legend.)
I gathered as much information as I can on the characters in Knights of the Round Table. The section involving the Round Table Knights is as finished as I can get. I'm still working on things like the allies and friends, as well as the Zabiloniyans.
I want to mention that what I was able to gather info wise came from two old walkthroughs for the FC and SFC games from Gamefaqs, so you're information might be different from mine.
My allergies are really bad, and I didn't get much sleep last night, but I think I've gathered as much info on the main heroes as I can. Some spots are not filled because I just don't have the info that I was searching for. But I hope it will be a good start.
So in the meantime, if you can tell me how to send my info from my word file, I'll at least give you the first part of my work. My list for other characters will be long, so if some characters just seem unimportant, feel free to not add them in.
Yes, I have a Gmail account as well (though under a different name).
I had just finished the word document involving (almost, I'm sure I missed a few) all the characters from the two video games I read. It will need some refining as I know I haven't filled in most of their profiles.
If you would please tell me your Google email/gmail account, I'll pass the document on to you.
Look for a message that says: "Message from The Raven of Elysion." in your inbox.
The few things that I think should definitely be added are the 13 Knights of the Round Table, King Gundam the 1st, some of the Villains like Great Degwin and Giga Salamander, and maybe a few side characters like Garma, Four, and Quess.
I do ask that you give credit to the two Gamefaq developers even if they more than likely no longer pay attention to Gamefaqs anymore.
Well; I've done the best I can on my end. The rest is up to you.
I'm thinking about making more character pages for the SD Gaiden series. I found a neat website that has the majority of the Carddass Cards in its database (though some of the cards are somehow missing). Thankfully, I found out you can have the text changed to English.
Now granted, I can only give out names. Who they are affiliated with and what story they contain will be completely unknown. But I think names are important enough for now.
Speaking of SD Gaiden; I'm a little surprised that they haven't covered the 00 series, the age series, some Universal Century series, and though I doubt they might touch it, the Build Fighter series as well. The X series I know they touched, but just barely. Anyways, I think I will end the messages here.
I had fun working with you, and I will try to give you my support if you still want it. Keep up the good work, and I hope to collaborate with you in the future.
