The Mega Bazooka Launcher is a beam weapon introduced in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.
Technical Information[]
The Mega Bazooka Launcher is a large mega particle cannon with firepower exceeding that of a warship's guns, which draws its power from a built-in thermonuclear reactor. Though Mega Bazooka Launchers are equipped with maneuvering verniers, their sheer bulk reduces the mobility of the mobile suits that carry them and due to their high power requirements, they must spend a considerable amount of time charging up prior to each shot. Additional mobile suits could be connected to the Mega Bazooka Launchers to serve as energy tanks to speed up this recharging process. This method also works if connected to a ship's power source.
History[]
The Mega Bazooka Launcher was developed by Anaheim Electronics as a strategic high-energy weapon for use by mobile suits. The Mega Bazooka Launcher was first used by the AEUG during the Gryps War, being the preferred heavy weapon of the MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki. The launcher was most notably used to attack the "Dogosse Giar" during a trip to negotiate with Axis Zeon, and during the Battle of Gryps to wipe out several dozen AMX-003 Gaza-Cs.[1]
After the Gryps War, Anaheim Electronics took the Mega Bazooka Launcher technology and adapted it into the FXA-08R Mega Rider, which was used by the AEUG throughout the First Neo Zeon War.
During the Laplace Conflict, a RGM-89De Jegan (ECOAS Type) on board the SCVA-76 Nahel Argama equipped a Mega Bazooka Launcher to the ships power supply for use as a turret against the Sleeves mobile suits.
