The Medium Transport Aircraft is an airborne carrier introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
Technology & Combat Characteristics[]
A smaller transport than the VoLPHAU. It is characterized by its bird-like appearance with its head raised. Due to its size, the MS is transported lying down in a special carrier, with the hatch located at the rear of the fuselage. It has a passenger cabin for transporting personnel, and can accommodate about 12 people. Although it cannot take-off and land vertically like the VoLPHAU, this aircraft is more fuel efficient and has better turn rate.[1]

History[]
In March, C.E. 71, four transport aircrafts were used to transport the Zala Team and their Gundams to Carpentaria Base. On route, one of the aircrafts was intercepted by one of the Archangel's FX-550 Skygraspers, piloted by Cagalli Yula Athha during Second Equatorial Skirmish. Having taken damage, the aircraft was forced to release its cargo, the GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam and its pilot Athrun Zala. The aircraft was able to shoot down Cagalli's Skygrasper before it was destroyed.[2] Several aircrafts were used to transport ZAFT mobile suits during Operation Spitbreak.[3]

- The Medium Transport Aircraft bears a passing resemblance to the Dora that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team.
